She’s back!

Amy is returning to clinic part-time after maternity leave and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her back.

She will be gently transitioning back into practice with limited hours, focusing on caring for existing patients during this time.

Meet our newest chiropractor, Dr Amy Hurtz.

Amy will be available to care for Phoebe’s patients whilst she is on maternity leave.

🤲🏻 Originally from Queensland, Amy has spent the last two years in Alice Springs before moving to Portland for a (cold) sea change!

🤲🏻 After studying at CQ University, Amy practiced in Mackay Queensland and spent a year abroad in Canada, before moving to Alice Springs in 2021.

🤲🏻 While most seek treatment for a range of conditions and complaints, Amy also provides care beyond symptoms to improve both health and performance of others. She enjoys providing care to people at any stage of life and has an interest in women’s and children’s holistic health.

🤲🏻 Amy is also undertaking her post graduate studies in chiropractic paediatrics.

🤲🏻 Outside the clinic Amy enjoys yoga/pilates, camping, café hopping and outdoor adventures with her dog, Rigby.

Techniques Amy utilises include:

- Soft tissue techniques
- Joint mobilisation and manual adjustments
- Low force adjustments including pelvic blocking, activator and cranial work
- Pregnancy care & paediatrics

Meet our new chiropractor, Dr Canh Ly.

🤲🏻 Canh (pronounced ‘can’) is from a small town in Canada, and initially made the journey across the world to Sydney where he completed his Bachelors degree and Masters of Chiropractic Science at Macquarie University.

🤲🏻 After working in Sydney for some time, he made the big move to live rurally in Mount Gambier two years ago, where he still resides.

🤲🏻 In his spare time, Canh enjoys free diving for crayfish and abalone, snorkelling, training at the gym, boxing, and looking for some locals to take him out surfing.

🤲🏻 As a Vietnamese Canadian, Canh’s favourite authentic dish is the Vietnamese banh mi and favourite ice hockey team is the Vancouver Canucks.

- Stretching and rehabilitation advice
- Joint mobilisation and manual adjustments
- Activator

Meet our newest chiropractor, Dr Emily-Rose Dobson.

👐🏼 Emily-Rose completed her Masters of Chiropractic at RMIT Melbourne in 2015. Being adjusted from an early age fuelled Emily-Rose’s passion for chiropractic and her desire to work in this amazing profession.

👐🏼 She loves adjusting all members of the community but has a particular passion for sports chiropractic and dry needling. Emily-Rose is a keen netballer, playing and captaining the A grade side for Koroit FNC.

👐🏼 Since she travels across here from Warrnambool, we are lucky to have Emily-Rose helping out in the clinic whilst we are so busy!

Meet one of our chiropractors, Dr Naomi Fleming.

👐🏼 For more than thirty years, Naomi has been helping people in Portland achieve their health goals.

👐🏼 She uses muscle testing techniques (applied kinesiology) to pinpoint areas of weakness and then applies manual adjusting techniques along with activator (low force), blocks and soft tissue therapy to help her patients.

👐🏼 Naomi is a warm, caring and compassionate chiropractor who goes above and beyond to ensure that every one of her patients receives the attention they deserve.

Why we changed our clinic name..

Earlier this year we became Discover Health Group as this reflects our vision to expand from a chiropractic & remedial massage clinic, to bring in more allied health services to the Portland and surrounding community.

We hope that we help people to ‘discover’ better health through managing their pain, improving their mobility, increasing their daily movement & empowering patients to take care of their own health.

Our new name is also a little nod to our nearby Discovery Bay Coastal Park. 🌊🌊

And we are adding to our allied health services - we have another new health practitioner joining us in June, stay tuned to see who it is. ✨
