The session is designed to outline the practical benefits of global engagement for Australian camp operators and professionals. Learn about the history of the fellowship, the resources available to members - including the ICF Academy, ICDC courses, and global networking groups. We'll also hear about the strategic importance of the upcoming 2026 Congress.

A lovely morning with members this morning at Silverband Lodge. Our Member Morning Teas provide a great opportunity to connect and brief members on the happenings at ACA, including updates on projects etc. A big thank you to Leighton and the team at Silverband lodge for their hospitality, it was great to have a tour of the site and see some of the recent upgrades and works that have been done.

The 2026 International Camp Directors Course (ICDC) - Australia has begun! This morning our ICDC facilitators have welcomed participants from three different states of AUS to Camp Cottermouth in the ACT. The next four days will be filled with connecting with industry colleagues and learning from 17 core topics across Camp Management.

The 'not-for-profit' Australian Camps Association (ACA) is the national peak body for camps and associated providers. We strongly believe that participation in supported outdoor experiences through camps and led adventure activities leads to happier and healthier lives.

About us

The Australian Camps Association was formed in 2005 through the amalgamation of the Camping Associations of Victoria, Tasmania, South Australian and Queensland. Today we provide support, resources, business development and professional development to well over 240 members located throughout Australia.

What is a camp? It can be two things – the experience of ‘going on camp’ (which can take place wherever there is a suitable venue offering group accommodation), and also the actual physical venue that hosts the group itself. Note that the Australian Camps Association represents camps rather than camping – which is a more informal activity usually involving tents, caravans, etc.

Are you operating an outdoor business? Become a member today – we have excellent member benefits to help support you. Membership is open to camp operators, activity providers and individuals or organisations with an interest in the camps sector.
