A candle moment is one of the gentlest ways to create quiet space in a ceremony.

One way to do it:
Invite each person (or each family group) to light a candle in silence, then return to their seat while a chosen piece of music plays.

No pressure to speak. No pressure to “do it perfectly”. Just a steady moment to remember.

If a candle isn’t practical, a single flower placed in a vase or on a table can create the same sense of quiet dignity.

Rain, hail, or shine—honouring a life doesn't stop for the weather. Today at West Ulverstone Cemetery, we stood together to ensure a beautiful farewell, regardless of the grey skies.
