What a week of laughs and colour at the residents’ corner — we kicked things off with co****le and bocce (big thanks to Windermere, Whit Wing and CB for bringing the friendly rivalry) and it was an absolute hoot as folks cheered, teased and celebrated every near‑miss and perfect toss.

A sunny pub lunch at Dingo Beach had residents strolling back down memory lane, swapping foreshore stories between bites of chips and plenty of laughter. The colourful jars on the tables were lovingly prepared by our activities staff to add that extra sparkle to meal times.
Later the mani‑pedi station turned into a rainbow parade — polished toes and painted smiles all around.
We finished the week making heartfelt Valentine cards and raising a glass at happy hour with Carolyn leading the toasts; by the end we were louder, lighter, and already excited for the next round of fun.

January ended on a wonderful note with a special birthday celebration for all our January residents in the activities room. It was a warm and joyful gathering filled with smiles, good company, and festive cheer.

Today, residents in Windermere and Hazelwood enjoyed Ice Cream Day, featuring a selection of boysenberry, vanilla, and chocolate flavors.

This delightful treat provided a perfect conclusion to a day of celebration and the extended long weekend.

With Monday being a public holiday, the Activities team hosted an Australia Day morning tea.
The event was well attended, with all seats filled and party pies, Cheerios, and lamingtons enjoyed by everyone.
Scotty finished the celebration with an Australia Day quiz that brought plenty of laughs and sparked memories of classic Aussie slang.

The new year has kicked off with the return of our beloved Breaky Club, and what a heartwarming morning it was! A few new faces joined us today, quickly making friends and sharing smiles with fellow residents. There’s something truly special about stepping out of familiar routines and connecting over breakfast — it brings a fresh energy and a sense of community that’s simply wonderful to witness.

Meanwhile, our dedicated lifestyle staff have been bustling with activity. After Breaky Club, they whisked everyone away on a scenic bus drive to Cape Conway. One of our new residents enjoyed a nostalgic journey, reminiscing about the many changes since their last visit many moons ago. It’s moments like these that remind us how meaningful it is to create new memories while honoring the past.

A bit late to share, but on January 1st, our residents enjoyed a fun New Year’s party complete with music, good company, and plenty of tasty nibblies to snack on! It was great to see everyone smiling and having a good time. Thanks to all the families for your support in making these moments possible. Here’s to a happy and healthy year ahead for everyone!

Today at Proserpine Nursing Home, we celebrated a joyful Christmas party with our residents, filled with laughter, joy, and love. Families gathered to share in the festive spirit, making the occasion truly special.

The highlight was our Christmas raffle, packed with wonderful goodies generously donated by the public. Thanks to these kind contributions, the raffle was a huge success, with many residents winning exciting prizes and smiles all around.
