Everyone came together to share stories, listen to their favorite songs, and enjoy sweet treats, turning a simple morning into a warm and joyful gathering of friends and family. 🎂 🥳 🎁

Today we trialled our first rock & roll happy hour.

It’s that time again for our last Breakfast Club of the year, where our wonderful residents from Windermere, Whitsunday Wing, and Tawvale came together to enjoy a feast fit for a king.

“OUR HANDS EXPRESS AS WE MAKE ART”

The hands of our residents tell powerful stories as they come alive through art. During her 2025 placement at Proserpine Nursing Home, Glenda guided residents in creating murals, lawn displays, and other artworks in meaningful art therapy sessions.
Many residents were surprised by the beauty they could create, especially those who believed they couldn't draw or hadn’t made art in years. These sessions became a source of joy and self-discovery, revealing hidden talents and sparking pride.

Glenda’s deep fascination with the individuality of each hand—their age, wrinkles, jewelry, and unique marks—reflects the rich life stories they carry.
This collection of photographs capturing those hands in the act of creation is a heartfelt gift to Proserpine Nursing Home, celebrating the creativity and spirit of its residents.

We also warmly congratulate Glenda Vickers on completing her Masters in Therapeutic Arts Practice through MIECAT Institute Inc Melbourne, honoring her dedication and the privilege of working alongside our community this year.

Residents gathered in the café on Friday morning to enjoy a delightful tea time, featuring freshly made Chantilly cream served alongside pancakes with jam—a special treat prepared by the kitchen.

Later that afternoon, the ice-cream trolley made its usual appearance, bringing joy and smiles as the residents savored their favorite frozen treats. Both moments added warmth and happiness to the day.

Our regular activities continue to bring joy and engagement, featuring favorites such as bingo, lawn bowls, hoy, craft sessions, choir, bingo wings, bus outings, and much more.
These diverse options ensure there’s something enjoyable for everyone, fostering community spirit and lively participation.

Lunch outings have been a wonderful highlight, with residents thoroughly enjoying their visit to Reef Gateway over the holidays. Our most recent trip to the newly renovated Dingo Beach Pub was especially meaningful, as it brought back fond memories for one of our residents. Revisiting her old stomping grounds sparked heartfelt stories of the time she spent living at Dingo Beach with family and friends, making the outing both nostalgic and deeply special.

Our ice cream trolley was, as always, a tremendous hit with our residents. Time and again, they tell us that once a month simply isn’t frequent enough to satisfy their sweet cravings and the joy it brings.

Remembrance Day service on Tuesday was a meaningful tribute to honor all who have served.

Such ceremonies play a vital role in preserving the memory of sacrifices made and ensuring that future generations remember the cost of freedom.
