Formal Notice: Commitment to Respect and Professional Standards

Engaged Support Services is a registered NDIS provider committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and respect. As part of our obligations under the NDIS Code of Conduct, the Zero Tolerance Framework, and international human rights legislation, we affirm the following:

Abuse, neglect, or disrespect will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
This applies equally to interactions between staff and participants, and participants and staff. Every individual has the right to be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

Respect is a two-way street.
If you expect respect, you must demonstrate respect. Disrespectful behaviour toward management, staff, or participants will no longer be tolerated. This includes verbal abuse, intimidation, or any conduct that undermines our values and obligations.

Our Standards Are Non-Negotiable.
As a registered provider, we are held to strict professional and ethical standards. While the NDIS framework does not always align with Fair Work or the SCHADS Award, we are bound by the NDIS Code of Conduct and human rights principles, and we will not waiver from these obligations.

Legal Enforcement.
We have a large legal firm on retainer and will take decisive action where necessary. This is a formal notice and warning: continued breaches of respect and conduct standards will result in immediate consequences.

Too often, individuals “bite the hand that feeds them” and then play the victim. This behaviour is incompatible with our mission and values. We have implemented changes to align with our vision for a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all.

Respect is not optional, it is mandatory.
Together, we can maintain a culture of dignity and accountability.

🌟 A Heartfelt Farewell 🌟

When we started this journey, we were full of enthusiasm and big dreams. Sadly, not all of those dreams came true. From day one, Mel and I worked tirelessly, sometimes 18-hour days, unpaid. We bought things for staff and participants out of our own pockets, and for the first year, we didn’t even take a wage. Instead, we lived off the money from selling our home because we believed in what we were building.

Our commitment was unwavering, but unfortunately, it wasn’t always met with the same level of dedication. That reality led us to make the difficult decision to reduce our services and return to what we know best and are qualified in.

Despite the challenges, this journey has been incredible. From a single participant to over 40 , with just as many staff, we’ve grown across the state and met some truly inspirational people, staff and participants who have lived life to the fullest under our care.

We are sad to see the hub go, but it never truly took off and became a significant financial loss for us. The building has been sold, the van is gone, and we’ve worked hard to assist dozens of participants and staff through this transition, ensuring continuity of care and supporting both staff also. While not everyone is moving over to a new provider, we wish those who are, a bright and successful future.

Thank you to everyone who shared this journey with us. It’s been full of ups and downs, but it’s a chapter we’ll never forget. Here’s to a new year, bigger and better than ever! 💙

We have collected enemies along the way of this journey, particularly viscous ones who were called out for their unprofessionalism , self-entitlement and plain antisocial behaviour, most of which only ever thought about themselves. But that is part of this industry, whilst they are expected to behave in a way that they were called out for, it is deeply hurtful that during this change we have continued to be attacked and accused (incorrectly) and some people who we have done everything we possibly could do for them, have given no consideration or care to the impact this change is having on Mel and I. Staff (with the exception of a few) have not asked if we are OK, or thought for one minute about the loss this is to us. Instead we have had attitudes that really prove we are making the right decision.

Yesterday was not the send off we expected, we are deeply saddened by the actions of a few. But this just proves we are making the right decision.

We want to take a moment to reassure everyone and share some exciting updates.

Our organisation is strong, committed, and continuing to grow. Recently, there have been some inaccurate statements circulating online, and we want to clarify a few things:

We are not closing, and we are not leaving anyone behind.
We are making changes that align with our qualifications and expertise because we are passionate about delivering the highest quality services, this is about doing what we trained for and love, not about money.

Unfortunately, some of these comments are coming from individuals who are no longer part of our team due to serious breaches of trust. While it’s disappointing to see negativity, we choose to focus on what matters most: the wellbeing of our participants and staff.

We hold ourselves to very high standards, and as part of that commitment, we will be contacting everyone individually to discuss any changes that affect you. If you don’t hear from us, it means nothing is changing for you.

Please feel confident that we are here for you. Ignore the noise, our priority is and always will be providing exceptional care and support. If you have any questions, reach out to us directly.
Thank you for your trust and support, we’re excited about the future and grateful to have you with us.

Today, December 3rd, marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

At Engaged Support Services, we want to take this opportunity to share an important message.

This day isn’t about celebrating disability itself or singling people out because of it. It’s about celebrating progress, inclusion, and empowerment. It’s about acknowledging the incredible changes brought by the NDIS and the wider community—a world where people with disabilities have the support they need to live full, meaningful lives.

Most importantly, today is about recognising achievements. It’s about honoring the resilience, determination, and strength of those who overcome challenges every single day.

So, let’s take a moment to appreciate the people in our lives who may not have it as easy as we do, yet continue to strive, succeed, and inspire. Their stories remind us what true courage looks like.
Together, let’s keep building a world where inclusion isn’t an exception—it’s the norm. 💜
