At work, we’re often tasked with providing medical support teams at major events. Sometimes we’ve worked alongside Government emergency Agencies (Ambulance Service, Fire, Rural Fire, SES, Police), so it’s important to retain a functional Command & Control System in place, that can also mesh in with these other agencies if needs be.

Here we have our ICS (Incident Control Systems) Identification Board, especially used when we have medical teams at large events.

The badges have Velcro backing and are used on our ICS Vests to identify a medic in what role they have

Sadly, the Groovin’ the Moo music festival has been cancelled in 2024 - the entire tour.

First Aid Services had been providing Event Medical Teams to each Canberra event (2010-2019, 2022 & 2023)

I’d like to thank our team members across the years, and, to festival organisers for engaging us for each and every event held in Canberra.

First Aid Services medical team worked the Jindabyne Rodeo yesterday. A fairly big day out for the town.

Firstly let me say Merry Christmas and wishing everyone a very happy New Year.

I’d like to take the opportunity here to publicly thank my staff for their efforts over the last four months.

In late August I suffered a Stroke, and spent 3 1/2 months in hospital. I was home in time for Christmas with my family.

During this time in hospital , key personnel have stepped up and have been working had to keep operations running as close to business as usual as you can get.

I will be back on deck by the end of January 2024, but in a reduced capacity for light duties.

Special mention goes to Luke, our Regional Superintendent, for looking after Patient Transport Services and Event Medical Services.

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things in 2024
