Hello everyone,
I am very excited to share my new parent training and coaching program 'Communicate for Life'. The program is designed for parents of children who have an AAC system (iPad, device or paper-based system such as a PODD book) and want to know how to use it to help their child communicate.

It is perfect for families whose child is currently receiving speech therapy AND those not working with a speech pathologist.

Communicate for Life is a 6-month program with education and group coaching. Our first training module "Get to know your device" is available next week on November 9, and our first group coaching session will be on the 23rd November.

A daily act of gratitude can heal wounds, stop anger, transform relationships and open our HEARTS. Do you practice gratitude? If YES, what is your ritual? Please share so that we can get inspired and learn from you.

If gratitude were on all our hearts there would be no war, hatred and social segregation. Discuss.

Being grateful is simply reminding ourselves of the little things in our lives that make a HUGE difference to how we feel.

Example:
I’m grateful for my legs because they carry me wherever I choose to walk.
I’m grateful for my mind because it points the way for me.
I’m grateful for my hands because I can type this message to you.
I’m grateful for the people in my life because they show me that love has no borders.
I’m grateful for so much more and it would take me all day to write this down.

What about you? What are you grateful for?

Being grateful doesn’t have to be so hard. You can start by simply giving thanks for your home, your food and your people…

Here’s a quick 10-minute gratitude ritual you can do alone or with your partner. Remove all electronic gadgets from your bedroom to create a calm space of tranquility, then each night before bed time spend 10 minutes reflecting on your day.

Say out loud what you’re grateful for and take turns (if you do this ritual with a partner).
Today, I’m grateful for ________. I’m also grateful for ______, because ________.

Have fun with this and watch as the magic unfolds because when you start giving gratitude for the things you love, more of them will start showing up in your life.

It's so easy to focus on making every minute count therapeutically when you are raising a child with additional needs. Sometimes your relationship and loving connection with your child can take a back seat. Here is a way to connect to your children in 10 minutes a day

"I give my kids plenty of attention.  What's so special about Special Time?" - Emilee "Giving your child Special Time is an active form of listening, in which your child’s play becomes her vehicle for telling you about her life and perceptions." - Patty Wipfler "Special time is priceless because ...
