It is important to know what to do when you or your child are sick and how to avoid spreading the virus to others.

Top stop the spread:
✋ wash your hands regularly
🏠 stay home if you're sick
🤧 cover your coughs and sneezes
😷 maintain physical distance from others, and wear a mask if you can't
🧽 clean frequently touched surfaces regularly
🦠 get your free flu immunisation if eligible.

While they are both caused by viruses, the flu tends to come on suddenly and can be more severe than a common cold. Children are more likely to develop serious illness, so it’s important to know the signs and take action early.
