Most Therapy Stalls For One Hidden Reason.
You’re speaking to the client…but not to the part that is actually running the room.
Read that again.
A calm, intelligent adult may be sitting in front of you, yet the part at the helm might be:
• a terrified part expecting rejection
• an angry protector ready to strike
• a confused part fogged by overwhelm
• a shut-down part avoiding pain
If we miss who is present, we often miss the doorway to change.
That’s when sessions feel like:
Same story.
Same loop.
Same insight.
No shift.
Tuesday Tip For Parts Workers:
Before your next question, silently ask:
Who is here right now?
What is this part trying to protect?
What would help it feel safe enough to soften?
Often the moment you meet the right part, everything moves.
Less pushing.
More precision.
Less frustration.
More breakthrough.
The client is not “resistant”.
You may simply be speaking to the wrong crew member.
That single shift can change your whole practice.
