This week at Kick Start Kids Therapy, our Music, Arts & Crafts group helped our kids develop fine motor skills, creativity, and planning skills, while also encouraging social interaction and teamwork.

Our Dungeons & Dragons holiday group has been packed with imagination, teamwork, and epic moments!

Across our sessions, young adventurers stepped into new roles, built friendships, and learned powerful skills through play.

From classic cheesy favourites to sweet pizza creations, our little chefs had a blast getting hands-on in the kitchen!

Chopping, spreading, topping and taste-testing their masterpieces- all while building confidence, independence and social skills in a fun, supportive space.

✨ This week (27 October – 2 November) we celebrate OT Week 2025 and the theme “Occupational Therapy in Action” — a reminder of the creativity, problem-solving and compassion that drives our work. 

At Kickstart Kids Therapy we’re proud to witness how occupational therapy helps children:

We’ve officially entered the final term of the school year, and for many kids, this time can feel exciting, exhausting, and everything in between.

Whether your child is finishing their first year of school, their final year of primary, or somewhere in between — Term 4 is full of change, and that can bring big feelings. 💬💛

At Kickstart Kids Therapy, we see how much emotional energy this time of year can take — especially for kids with extra learning or therapy needs.

Here are a few gentle reminders to help your child thrive this term:

🎉 Happy End of Term! 🎉

As we wrap up another busy school term, we want to wish all our Kickstart families a wonderful, restful holiday ahead.

The break is a great time to slow down, recharge, and enjoy some unstructured play, outdoor adventures, and quality time together.

If you’re looking for ways to keep kids regulated and engaged over the holidays, here are a few simple OT-inspired ideas:

🌟 Keep loose routines for predictability
🧘 Build in sensory breaks during busy days
🏃‍♀️ Balance screen time with movement and outdoor play
💛 Most importantly, focus on connection — not perfection

Skills to learn and play for life!

At Kickstart Kids Therapy, we provide therapy for children and young people that identifies and treats not only the presenting issues but the underlying causes for each child.

We like to use an integrated Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, and Physiotherapy approach with our highly skilled and experienced team to optimise the results of intervention. We work with the child and the family to develop effective strategies to better support their child and provide guidance on how to best incorporate home-based activities into the family’s daily routine.

Our ability to draw from a variety of intervention approaches ensures that all sessions are unique to each individual child. We specialise in the treatment of children with language and literacy delays, speech sounds disorders, stuttering, social communication difficulties, Sensory Processing Disorder, developmental delays, learning difficulties, Dyspraxia (DCD), Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism. We are approved providers for NDIS, FaHCSIA Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) and Better Start packages for early intervention.
