An inspiring moment for the arts and the disability community. Scottish artist Nnena Kalu has made history as the first artist with a learning disability to win the Turner Prize. Her win is being described as long overdue and richly deserved, shining a light on what is possible when talent is supported, valued and given space to grow. 🙏

Nnena’s bold sculptures and drawings have captured attention on the world stage and her story is a powerful reminder that disabled artists can no longer be overlooked. This moment is bigger than one award. It is about representation, recognition and changing long-held perceptions.

A powerful story about ingenuity, kindness and the gift of mobility. For almost 30 years, Australian inventor Des La Rance and a team of dedicated volunteers have been turning unwanted bicycles into rough terrain wheelchairs for people with disability around the world.

What started after a trip to Fiji has grown into a life-changing project that has delivered almost 12,000 wheelchairs to more than 30 countries. These chairs are opening up access to towns, schools and everyday life, while also keeping thousands of bikes out of landfill. It is proof of what can happen when community, skill and purpose come together.

Living by the coast makes being familiar with the water a real necessity. The pool felt like a better and safer option on this day but as the weather heats up you might even see us venturing down to the beach a bit more often. 🤗
