Mirror play 🪞✨ (it’s not just for babies!)

Mirror play is a simple activity that supports development across all ages — from babies right through to older children.

Mirror Play can help build:

✨ Self-awareness & body awareness – Understanding “this is me” and how the body moves

✨ Emotional awareness – Noticing and exploring different facial expressions

✨ Social skills – Practising eye contact, turn-taking, and interaction

✨ Motor skills – Copying movements, gestures, and coordination tasks

✨ Confidence – Building comfort with seeing and expressing themselves

💡 Try this:
• Babies – use mirrors during tummy time
• Toddlers – make faces, name emotions
• Preschoolers – copy actions (clap, jump, silly poses)
• School-aged kids – practise routines, social scripts, or calming strategies

Standing in support, raising awareness, and showing love to those living with epilepsy and their families. You are never alone!

Did you know:
💜 1 in 26 people who will be diagnosed with epilepsy in their lifetime
💜 Here in Australia, it’s estimated that 266,000 people are living with epilepsy: our families, friends, colleagues, students, carers and community members whose experiences are too often invisible.

This is our year to amplify voices, dismantle stigma, educate communities, and build understanding 🫶🏼

We’re so excited to welcome our newest senior OT, Hepsi 🎉 She is bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge!

👋 Hello! I’m Hepsi!
I’m originally from India, but have spent many years living and working in Singapore before making Australia my home.

I’m passionate about discovering each child’s unique strengths and understanding the barriers that shape their everyday participation. I enjoy working closely alongside parents, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams, believing that the best outcomes grow from genuine collaboration and trusted therapeutic relationships.

I’m also currently pursuing my PhD, bridging research and practice to create meaningful change in children’s
everyday lives.

A disease is RARE when it affects less than 1 in 2000 people.

👉🏼 There are more than 6000 rare diseases currently identified
👉🏼 72% of these are genetic
👉🏼 70% of rare diseases start in childhood
