🐣 This Easter, it’s okay to enjoy the foods you love—chocolate included!
From a dietetics perspective, balance is key. Rather than restricting, focus on mindful eating, listening to your body, and savouring those special treats without guilt. Pair your Easter goodies with nourishing meals, stay hydrated, and keep your routine as consistent as possible.
Remember, one weekend doesn’t define your health—your everyday habits do.
🌿 Enjoy the celebration, fuel your body well, and be kind to yourself.

What Do You Want First? The Bad News or the Good News?!
Did you know…? More than 75% of people over the age of 55 show the joint deformations of Osteoarthritis on X-rays! 🍀Luckily, most of these people have no symptoms.🍀
But…for some people, osteoarthritis can cause joint pain and stiffness, really affecting sufferers' daily lives. 😔
The bad news is there's no cure for it. The good news? It's a very treatable disease.✅
Our goals of treatment at My Health Team are to relieve your pain and to improve or maintain the movement of your joints, so visit us online at www.myhealthteam.com.au.

Persistent, or chronic pain, is pain that lasts longer than 3 months. It can be scary when the pain doesn’t seem to go away, and it is even scarier to think about having to exercise your body while it is actively hurting.
Does exercising when there is pain cause more damage?
No, it doesn’t have to! 🎉🎉When exercises are done with the correct intensity, frequency, range, form, there is minimal risk of further hurting your body.
On the contrary, exercises have many benefits to long-term pain, for example:
Aerobic exercise, such as walking, running, cycling, and swimming 🏃🚴🏊
🔵Helps the body to produce more natural painkillers such as opioids and endorphins, which have a pain-relieving effect
Resistance training 💪
🔵Improves stability and reduces the load on joints
🔵Anti-inflammatory effects by reducing the excessive inflammatory responses in the body that causes soreness and restrictions
Come and have a chat with a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist at My Health Team to learn more about different types of exercise therapy, and to create an exercise program that is suitable for the current capacity and tolerance of your body.

🤩Strike a Pose!🤩
Being stuck in the same position for any length of time, whether it's behind a desk or due to a medical condition, is a sure recipe for bad posture and all the health problems that go hand in hand with a less-than-perfect posture. We're talking aches and pains in your back, hips, shoulders, neck, arms and more.😔😔
It's a particular problem now that many of us work from home, sometimes from our sofa or dining table. The good news is that at My Health Team we've been dealing with posture-related problems for years, and it's nothing that a assessment, some good advice and some easy exercises can't help with.
So strike a pose, because My Health Team is happy to serve people in Redcliffe for all their posture related needs!😀

Give Back Pain the Boot!
For adults over 40, lower back pain is one of the main reasons people visit their doctor.
Luckily, very few people who feel pain in their back have a serious medical problem. 🍀90% of people who experience low back pain for the first time get better in two to six weeks, but that's a long time to be in pain and most people who experience it once have it happen again. 😔
Something as simple as the shoes you wear can make a huge difference to your lower back. My Health Team is happy to serve people in Redcliffe who have back pain. Visit us online at www.myhealthteam.com.au or contact us today so we can assess your back pain and help you get back on track! 👟👟👟

My Health Team was born from Andrew and Mark’s frustrations of not being able to fix everything with our clients. Not many of us have just the one problem when they come to see us. We often have multiple different issues that need to be addressed. It’s a lot better when someone sees the expert for each problem.
We became disillusioned from sending clients to other types of providers to get other aspects of their health fixed. Often this encounted delays in accessing other services and break down in communication, leading to longer heeling times.
We firmly believe that when a client walks in for treatment, they’re not just getting the injury treated, we are restoring their lifestyle and getting them back to what they love to do pain free.
That is why Andrew and Mark created My Health Team.
We totally understand how the system can sometimes work against you, and we vowed when we set up our clinic that we would change that.
We have seen what happens when your health care providers don’t work cohesively as a team.
This is how Andrew tells about what he observed.
“Before I started My Health Team, I was an exercise physiologist. I would be treating a client for rehabilitation, and at the same time they needed to see a dietitian for weight loss. I would send them to another company and there were often delays in getting started and a lack of team cohesiveness that would affect the clients support and ultimately impact their outcome”.
“That’s why Mark and I decided to build a team of high performing physiotherapists, podiatrists, exercise physiologists, psychologists and dietitians all working in sync and all fuelled with an unquenchable thirst for perfection.”
Andrew and Mark knew that by bringing experienced and highly-trained professionals from different health disciplines together, they could create an effective collaborative care model that would make a world of difference to their clients.
