Redcliffe parkrun – Event #416 | 14 March 2026

The Redcliffe foreshore turned on some wild weather this morning, with strong winds and the occasional shower keeping numbers lower than usual 2026 numbers.

Still, 186 hardy runners, joggers and walkers braved the conditions to get their parkrun fix.

We welcomed 20 first timers to Redcliffe and somehow managed 15 Personal Bests — impressive work given the headwinds out there! Representatives from 18 different clubs took part.

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers who made the event possible today:

Leanne HESELDEN • Andrew BOUNDY • Sharon DORMAN • Bevan CROOKE • Paul VAN DER BOON • Noel PRICE • Kay BURKE • Kathy CHIVERS • Wayne HASTIE • Jenny NESBITT • Sarah BARNES • Geoff MEEN • Amanda WHITE • Adam WHITE • Glenn JONES • Emma GRAHAM

Since starting on 16 September 2017, 12,143 participants have completed 78,506 parkruns, covering 392,530 km, with 9,606 PBs, thanks to 867 volunteers who have filled the roster 6,724 times.

You can find today’s full results and event history on the Redcliffe parkrun Results Page.

📸 Volunteer Call-Out – Photographer Needed!

A big thank you to everyone who has already put their hand up to volunteer for this weekend’s Redcliffe parkrun. We’re thrilled to see the roster almost completely full already — what a fantastic show of community spirit! 🙌

We just have one role left to fill:
- Photographer.

If you enjoy capturing smiles, high-fives, and those determined finish-line faces, we’d love to have you behind the lens this Saturday.

It’s a great way to be part of the event and help share the parkrun magic with everyone afterwards.

If you’re able to help, please comment below or send us a message.

And while you’re at it, feel free to take a look at the future volunteer roster as well — there are always a few spots to fill in upcoming weeks, and it really helps the team when those roles are filled early.

Thanks again to our amazing volunteers — parkrun simply wouldn’t happen without you! 💙

Here is the volunteer roster for the next few weeks. If you'd like to volunteer at a future event please email redcliffe@parkrun.com. To find out more, visit the volunteer page.

A special thanks as well to our friends from Snap Fitness Redcliffe QLD, who joined us this morning and very kindly supplied post-parkrun snacks for participants at the finish line — always a welcome sight after 5km! 🍌

🏃‍♂️ Redcliffe parkrun – Event #414 - 28 February 2026

What a windy morning on the foreshore for our 414th event! 🌊☀️

This week 246 legends ran, jogged and walked the course, including 25 first timers – welcome to the Redcliffe parkrun family! 👋 And a huge congratulations to the 18 participants who recorded new PBs – outstanding effort!

We also had representatives from 24 different clubs join us, showcasing the strong and supportive running community that makes parkrun so special.

🙌 Our Amazing Volunteers

As always, this event simply wouldn’t happen without our volunteers. Thank you to our incredible team of 16:

Sue KLEIN • Andrew BOUNDY • Peter KONECNY • Ness ALLEN • Berenice MEYER • Dannielle CROSS • Peter MULLINS • Glenn JACKSON • Helen COLLEN • Carolynn CRUWYS • Beryl DOOCEY • Yvonne HEFFERNAN • Linda RIPPER • Geoff MEEN • Ayla HARVEY • Emma GRAHAM

🚧 Special Mention – Construction Zone Marshals

A very special shout-out to Peter M, Peter K, Geoff and Ayla, who stepped up as marshals in the construction area this morning. Holding signs, encouraging everyone to keep left, and helping manage the congestion through the narrowed section – your energy and encouragement made a real difference.

And we can’t forget that Ayla was assisted by her park dog “Sadie”, who did a fine job at her very first parkrun 🐾👏 A natural marshal in the making!

With the path reduced in width near the start, your presence helped keep things safe, smooth and positive for everyone.

📊 A Few Redcliffe Stats

Since we started on 16 September 2017:
• 12,094 participants
• 78,060 finishes
• 390,300 km covered (nearly to the moon! 🌕)
• 9,564 PBs
• 865 volunteers contributing an incredible 6,692 volunteer efforts

That’s community in action 💛

💛 We love seeing our Redcliffe parkrun community growing! 💛

With 300+ participants most weeks, it’s fantastic to see so many people out enjoying Saturday mornings together.

As you may have noticed, a temporary construction fence near our start line has narrowed the path. This means the first 500m is tighter than usual.

We have been advised by Council that this fence will be in place until March 2027.

A few simple reminders to help everything flow smoothly:

👉 Keep left
👉 No overtaking in the narrow section
👉 Single file past the old pavilion site
👉 Max two abreast
👉 Remember the path is shared with the public

We’ll have a few extra Marshals around to help guide everyone.

When heading to the start line, please walk down on the grass to avoid congesting the path while people are trying to self-seed. Walkers to walk around the back of the building.

Thanks for being such a considerate and supportive community — that’s what makes Redcliffe parkrun so special 💛
