2026’s off to a busy start!
Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of lower leg and shoulder issues – plantar fasciitis and shoulder impingements popping up more than usual. It’s a good reminder of just how important self-care is.
The trick? Make time for yourself before pain or injury makes you. Prioritise you first – your body will thank you later!
🦶 Plantar Fasciitis Isn’t “Just Heel Pain” – It Can Change Your Whole Day
If you’ve ever stepped out of bed and felt a sharp, stabbing pain in your heel… you’re not alone.
Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, and it happens when the thick band of tissue under your foot (the plantar fascia) becomes overloaded and irritated.
But what many people don’t realise is how much this condition can affect daily life:
👉 Pain with the first steps in the morning
👉 Pain after sitting or resting
👉 Difficulty standing or walking for long periods
👉 Reduced ability to exercise or stay active
👉 Struggling through workdays that involve being on your feet
👉 Avoiding social activities because walking hurts
Over time, people often start changing how they walk to avoid pain… and that can lead to secondary issues in the knees, hips, and lower back.
It’s not just physical either.
Ongoing foot pain is linked with:
• Frustration
• Reduced quality of life
• Worry about weight gain due to reduced activity
• Feeling stuck because nothing seems to help
The good news?
Most cases of plantar fasciitis respond well to the right combination of loading, mobility work, tissue care, and support when applied consistently.
If heel pain is controlling your day… it doesn’t have to stay that way.
Comment “RELIEF” or send me a message and I’ll point you in the right direction.

✨ Client Progress Update! ✨
Two weeks ago, this client came in with limited shoulder movement and some tightness. After today’s follow-up session, his shoulder range of motion has improved to 80%, and he walked out with full range of motion and no tightness at the end of his range! 💪
It’s always so rewarding to see clients leave feeling lighter, looser, and moving better.
If you’re struggling with shoulder stiffness or tightness, don’t wait—let’s get you moving freely again!

You’re never too young to start remedial massage.
This video is of me working on my son — and it’s a good opportunity to explain how I approach treating minors.
When I provide remedial massage to anyone under 18:
✔️ A parent or guardian is present in the room at all times
✔️ Every step of the session is clearly explained
✔️ Consent, comfort, and safety always come first
Remedial massage for kids and teens isn’t about “pushing through pain.”
It’s about helping growing bodies feel more comfortable, move better, and understand their own muscles and posture.
Creating a safe, calm, and respectful environment is non-negotiable — for the child and for the parent.
If you’ve ever wondered whether remedial massage is appropriate for your child, I’m always happy to have a conversation first.

Hi my name is Matt, remedial massage therapist at Balance & Flow Massage Clinic. After being in the steel industry as a boilermaker/welder for the last 20 years, I needed a change, I needed to start helping people in some way. That's when I found massage, I studied my diploma of remedial massage through Evolve College at Norwood SA.
My approach to massage is a holistic one, I look at what maybe causing the discomfort or injury, whether that is something you are doing at work, home, gym or exercise. I also looking at the emotional side, you maybe suffering some stress, anxiety or depression in some way due to the injury or discomfort. I assess all of the information gathered to determine the right treatment plan to get you back to a healthy physical and emotional state.
These are some of the ways massage can help.
By reducing stress, anxiety and depression.
Improving mobility and flexibility of clients.
Pain management.
Soft tissue injuries. (from sports and overuse)
By reducing Lower back pain and sciatic nerve pain.
By reducing discomfort or pain in the shoulder and neck.
I am here to make an impact on peoples lives through massage and there is nothing better than seeing a client after a massage with a big smile and sleepy eyes, knowing that I have helped improve their day, week or month, I feel very grateful for the gift of massage and the ways it will help my clients in the future.
here is a brief overview of the different types of massage that I perform.
Swedish massage. This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
Deep tissue massage. This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.
Sports massage. This is similar to Swedish massage, but it's geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.
Trigger point massage. This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fiber's that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
I invite you to come and experience what massage has to offer and the many benefits that come from the treatments. I want to thank you for reading and I hope to see you on my table soon.
