For me, my sensitivity and empathy are my superpowers. They’re what allow me to truly connect with others and live out my calling. And because I value living bravely and authentically, I want to share this.
This was me this morning—feeling broken, vulnerable, and stuck. I could feel the tears right there, waiting, but I kept telling myself I didn’t have time… that I didn’t want to make other sad… that I should just push it aside and brush it off. Deep down I knew this was not the answer and I had to just let it come.
Sometimes you just need to cry. Not because you’re weak, but because you’re human. Still, society has taught us to hide our tears, to treat them as something shameful—especially for men and boys. They’re told to “toughen up” or “man up,” but crying isn’t a failure. It’s a release. It’s healing.
We need to rewrite this narrative. Feeling your emotions is strength. Letting yourself cry takes courage. And there is so much peace and clarity on the other side of those tears.
Let’s normalise crying—for everyone. If you need a cry today, let it come. You deserve the release. 💙

In yoga philosophy, saucha refers to cleanliness and purity — not just in our surroundings, but in our thoughts, habits, and the way we care for our bodies and minds.
For busy adults juggling work, family, and endless to-dos, saucha isn’t about perfection… it’s about creating space for clarity.
When life gets hectic, our external and internal “clutter” piles up: messy desks, overloaded schedules, scattered thoughts, endless notifications. Practicing saucha helps us pause and reset. It invites us to take small steps that bring a sense of order and calm back into our lives.

🚨 Rant incoming… but with love.

We’re not talking about the “oops I was wrangling kids” kind of miss.
We’re talking the serial “Call me at 6:30pm” people…
The ones we book our kids in to OSHC for…
Prep dinner early for…
Ask family to cover bedtime for…
So we can give YOU our full, quiet, professional attention…

And then?
👉 No answer.
👉 No call back.
👉 No message.
👉 Nothing.
Just us sitting there with a warm laptop and cold dinner.

We LOVE our job.
We’ll go above and beyond for the right people.
But respect goes both ways.

✨ Yama Spotlight: Aparigraha – The Art of Letting Go ✨

This week, we’re exploring Aparigraha, one of the Yamas from yoga philosophy — and it couldn’t be more relevant to personal transformation.

Aparigraha means non-attachment or letting go of what no longer serves us — whether that’s old habits, limiting beliefs, or the need for constant control. 🕊️

When we hold on too tightly — to comfort, to fear, to “the way things have always been” — we create resistance to change. But when we start to release that grip, even just a little, space opens up for growth. 🌱

In your Mind & Body Transformation journey, Aparigraha might look like:

🌟 A Farewell and a New Beginning at Universal Balance 🌟

It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to our wonderful yoga teacher, Arun, on October 2nd. Arun has been such a beautiful part of our Universal Balance family, guiding us through countless classes with his wisdom, warmth, and steady presence. He has touched so many of our hearts, and we will miss him dearly. 🧘‍♂️💖

But as is always the case in our amazing community, when one door closes, another opens. We are excited to welcome the lovely Jasmine to take over our Thursday Restorative class starting on October 9th! Jasmine brings her own unique energy and perspective to the mat, and we know you’ll love getting to know her.

Also, we’re thrilled to share that Yasmine will be returning from her leave to take over our Wednesday night Yoga classes. It’s wonderful to have her back with us, and we know many of you have missed her calming presence.

While we say goodbye to Arun, we embrace the opportunity to continue learning and growing together. The strength of our community lies in the people who make it, and we’re grateful to each of you for being part of this beautiful journey with us. 🙏✨

Hey everyone!
I wanted to share something personal with you all, because even though it’s my job to help you stay on track with your health, I’m not immune to the ups and downs of life. Like many of you, I’ve had times where I lost focus. Between building my business, caring for sick kids, and just managing life in general, I let my own health take a back seat.
And you know what happened? I started to feel off—sluggish, bloated, low energy, and honestly, a bit disconnected from my true self. That’s when I realised I needed to get back on track and prioritise my health again.
So, I made a plan. A simple one. A plan that focused on foods I enjoy and ones that work for me and my family. I didn’t have to be perfect, but I got consistent and accountable. And in just 10 weeks, I lost 2.5kg of body fat. I’m now sitting at 16% body fat (down from 21%) and dropped my visceral fat from 11 to 9. My bio age is now 40, which is 3 years younger than my actual age.
What’s been key? Balance. I still went out for dinner. I still had drinks and treats. I didn’t have to give up the things I love to make real progress.
The biggest takeaway here is this: it’s okay to not be perfect all the time. But you do deserve to feel your best. You deserve to feel confident, energised, and at home in your own skin. When you take care of yourself, you’re in a better place to show up for the people who matter most in your life.
Remember, I’m here as your coach and your support, every step of the way. We all have our moments where life gets in the way, but it’s never too late to get back on track. Let’s make sure we’re the best version of ourselves—not just for us, but for the ones we love.

Universal Balance is a boutique studio in North Eastern Adelaide that offers Yoga, Restorative yoga, Floor Core, Meditation, Boxing and Krav Maga (self defence) for people of all ages and fitness levels. We are a dedicated group of instructors who deliver engaging, fun, interactive, professional and technique based classes with lots of laughs and a real community feel.

Universal Balance is a community based wellness studio that was created to help you optimize yourself as an individual mentally, physically and spiritually by helping you find real solid connections within the community you live and find balance and happiness from the inside out.

Our classes truly offer something special for everyone with our clients saying that they always feel encouraged and supported no matter what session they attend.
