Fresh paint, new carpet and some stylish new furniture- the hospital admin office is feeling pretty fancy!
The ⭐️ of the show though? This incredible historic photo, lovingly brought back to life by Brett and the legends at Rivergraphics. It’s turned into quite the talking point!
The original pic was taken during the 1917 flood, showing hospital staff in a ‘ferry’ used to carry both staff and patients from Cowra Street to the hospital.
We’re curious 🧐- does anyone recognise or know the young ladies in the photo? Maybe a grandparent? Or familiar face?

Gout is a type of arthritis that causes sudden pain and inflammation in joints.
It can happen when there is a build-up of a chemical called urate in your body, which is a normal waste product that comes from the breakdown of cells and the food and drinks we consume.

The big toe is most often affected, but gout can affect any joint like your feet, ankles, knees, wrists, and elbows.

Gout can show up as:
✔️ sudden severe pain and swelling in joint that is sore to the touch
✔️ warmth and redness of the skin over the affected joint
✔️ restricted movement of the joint.
Lifestyle factors that may increase your risk of gout are:
✔️ eating a diet that includes a lot of meat and seafood
✔️ drinking a lot of alcohol, especially beer and spirits
✔️ drinking a lot of sugary drinks.

Symptoms of measles start with fever, cough, runny nose, and sore eyes, followed by a blotchy rash which usually begins on the head and then spreads down the body.

If you believe you have measles symptoms, contact your doctor before you visit so precautions can be taken to avoid spreading the infection to others.

When a bee stings you, they leave the sting and venom sac in you.

If you are stung by a bee, remove the sting as quickly as you can. Use the edge of your fingernail or a credit card to carefully scrape the sting out.

Do not try to pull the sting out, as you may squeeze the venom sac. This will cause more venom to be injected.

Wash the area with soap and water. Then apply an ice pack.

Always wrap ice packs in a towel or cloth before putting it on your skin.

Leave this in place for 15 minutes. Use another cold pack if your pain continues.

If you think someone is experiencing anaphylaxis after a bee or wasp sting, use the adrenaline autoinjector immediately. Then call triple zero (000) and ask for an ambulance. Follow an ASCIA allergy action plan if you have one.
