Meet Nicole Afford – one of our amazing physiotherapists at River Allied Health!
With a strong foundation in physiotherapy and a deep-rooted passion for rural health, Nicole’s journey to River Allied Health has been shaped by both experience and community spirit. After graduating from UniSA in 2013, she found her professional home in the Riverland, starting at Renmark Physiotherapy in 2016. That same year, she made the move from hometown in Port Pirie to begin a new chapter in Waikerie with her partner and horses.
Nicole loves the variety that comes with being a physio in the country — from the clinic to the pool, gym and community, no two days are the same. Her favourite part of the job? Working alongside a team with diverse skills who genuinely care about helping clients kick goals.
Outside of work, Nicole is a highly successful amateur equestrian rider and spends much of her time training her horses and competing in shows across the state. When she’s not in the saddle, you might just find her glammed up at Fashions on the Field, where she’s even placed in the top 3 on Melbourne Cup Day at Flemington!
Nicole has embraced Riverland life, having recently moved to a riverfront property where she enjoys early mornings caring for her horses.
We’re so lucky to have Nicole on the team. Her motto says it all: “The harder you work, the luckier you get.”
