We are thrilled to share that Access Health and Community will be opening the Lilydale Medicare Urgent Care Clinic at Inspiro - 17 Clarke Street - later in December.

The Lilydale Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) will be bulk billed, open for extended business hours, and people won't need an appointment or referral.

“Volunteering allows me to do something productive that is not paid employment, and I’m united with other volunteers who are all doing something good for someone else.”

This quote came from one of our volunteers, Kathy, who gives her time to help at Camcare Inc. and the Parenting Outreach Program.

Today is International Volunteer Day, and we're saying a big thank you to all of our volunteers who make our work supporting communities possible.

International Volunteer Day is a day to celebrate and acknowledge that every act of volunteering, big or small, makes a huge difference.

❤️ Thank you to all of the many volunteers at AccessHC, whom all make an enormous difference in delivering our services.

Happy International Day of People with Disability!

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations Day that promotes awareness, understanding, and acceptance of people with disability.

Every year on 3 December, IDPwD is observed all around the world. It's a chance for us to come together—share stories, celebrate, and learn how we can all work towards a more inclusive future for everyone.

To recognise the day, AccessHC is celebrating disability inclusion with events and guest speakers across our organisation.

We’ve been lucky to hear from people with disability, and from carers, about their lived experience, and about how we can support disability inclusion. Thank you to everyone who so generously shared their stories with us.

Today is World AIDS Day ❤️

This is a day to:
♥️ Support people living with HIV
📖 Raise awareness of prevention, treatment and care
👊 Stand up against stigma and discrimination
🕯️ Remember those we've lost to AIDS related illness

What we know today:
- HIV is NOT spread by hugging, touch or sharing food
- HIV and AIDS are different. HIV is the virus, and AIDS can develop later if HIV is not treated
- HIV can be managed long term with the right medication
- Effective treatment stops sexual transmission of HIV when medication is working correctly

🌱 Respect grows through understanding 🌳

We are proud to support 16 Days of Activism (25 Nov to 10 Dec), a global movement to end gender-based violence and inequality.

Together we can create safe, supportive spaces where everyone can thrive - and nurture meaningful conversations about respect amongst friends, families and communities.

We encourage our community to visit a Unite Tree and share what respect, unity or kindness means to you by writing or drawing on a blank leaf.

Help these beautiful trees blossom into interactive displays of community storytelling and connection. 🧡💛

Crafted in partnership with Mt Evelyn Men’s Shed, the Unite Trees will be on display until 15 December 2025 at the following locations:

🌳 The Belgrave Hub - 1616/1624 Burwood Hwy, Belgrave
🌳 Lilydale Library - Jarlo Drive, Lilydale
🌳 Mt Evelyn Community House - 50 Wray Cres, Mount Evelyn

If you can’t visit in person but still want to participate, you can share your thoughts via the link below, and we’ll display it on a leaf and attach it to a Unite Tree for you.

🏳️‍⚧️This week is Trans Awareness Week!🏳️‍⚧️
Every year, from November 13-19, Trans Awareness Week is held to celebrate transgender, gender diverse, and nonbinary people—as well as raise awareness about the issues they still face in our society.
It's also a time to get involved—by learning how to be allies, we can all help to create a more fair and equal world for everyone.
Here are some of Transgender Victoria's top tips for being a Trans Awareness Week Ally:
🩵Learn - find out more about what it means to be trans, and listen/read real stories from trans people
🩷Celebrate - champion diversity by attending things like Trans Day of Visibility, or other community events
🤍Amplify - lift up the voices of trans and gender diverse people, start by sharing Trans Awareness Week posts!

For more information about the meaning of Trans Awareness Week, or events happening in your area, make sure to visit the Trans Month website: https://loom.ly/6ikLo7g
