Couples counselling is not the last resort for relationships. It can be a powerful tool for many aspects, e.g., strengthening communication, deepening connection, and navigating life’s transitions together, or even if you considering separation in a meaningful and respectful way.

Managing the impact of a traumatic event can be exhausting and overwhelming. Through the techniques of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), the thoughts and feelings associated can be challenged and managed, allowing us to develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve daily functioning.

The rise in ADHD visibility reflects growing awareness and acceptance rather than a surge in cases. Social media and expanded diagnostic criteria have helped people recognise symptoms that were once overlooked. With easier access to mental health care and reduced stigma, people are encouraged to seek assessments and treatments for ADHD, therefore creating the false sense of it being "trendy".

A gentle festive-season check-in 🌿
Take a moment today to pause and notice:
How am I feeling?
What do I need?
What can I let go of?
What would make today feel a little lighter?

A simple few seconds of awareness can make this busy season feel more manageable and more connected 🤍

Introducing Anj, who's a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the team.
Here are a few things that guide her work and the way she connects with clients:
🌿 Special interests: Autism, ADHD, twice-exceptionality, and supporting young people, teenagers, and their families. She’s also passionate about working with clients who have had forensic challenges in their lives.

🌿 What she values in therapy: Honesty, trust, openness and transparency, which are the foundations of any meaningful therapeutic relationship.

🌿 Professional values: Curiosity, integrity, honesty, and the humility to know that being the therapist doesn’t mean having all the answers.

🌿 Favourite quote: “You can do anything you put your mind to.” Simple, but powerful.

🌿 Favourite book: "The Wave", a story that challenged her perspective and encouraged questioning what is labelled “normal”.

We love having clinicians who bring heart, curiosity and grounded honesty into their work 🤍

Every child and their development is unique. Child psychology helps understand what each child needs to feel secure, confident, and capable. It also helps identify mental health conditions such as anxiety, learning difficulties, or developmental delays early. With early identification of challenges, it helps early intervention, which has indications for improved prognosis.

🌿 Olivia has a special interest in anxiety-related concerns such as panic disorder and agoraphobia. She also loves working with body image and eating-related difficulties, including body dysmorphia. Passionate about exploring attachment and relational patterns, she finds great meaning in supporting neurodivergent clients as well.

🍃 Safety and trust are absolutely paramount for Olivia. They create the foundation for vulnerability and genuine change. She especially values working with clients long term. Some of her clients have been with her since her very first day at Inner Eastern Psychology, and it’s a true privilege for her to witness their growth, resilience, and progress through life’s many ups and downs.

🌱 Olivia values authenticity, compassion, and collaboration. She believes therapy works best when clients feel genuinely seen and supported as they explore what matters most to them.
