How is everyone with hay fever this year? Hay fever is mostly a seasonal allergic reaction and usually attacks in late spring to early summer season, which is around October to November in Melbourne.

Antihistamines and nasal corticosteroid are good, but for some patients they are not enough to reduce the symptoms of hay fever.

So for people looking for some alternative treatment, acupuncture is often a great option. Acupuncture stimulates better blood flow and it helps unblocking and regulating congestions. It has no systematic side effect compared to antihistamines, and provides relief almost instantly.

Patients normally experience significant relief of symptoms or even a complete resolution within a few sessions of acupuncture treatment. Antihistamines and nasal corticosteroid respond much better for the residual symptoms for patients with severe hay fever.

Are you going through menopause right now?🤯

At my acupuncture clinic, I get clients coming in for their menopausal syndrome.

Menopausal Syndrome is the syndrome that appears pre- to post- menopause.
Women during this time often feel depressed or get anxiety, feel tired or worn out, have poor appetite and sometimes get hot flushes.

To be able to give you an acupuncture treatment or Chinese herbal medicine, we need to distinguish whether you are a Yin deficient type or a Yang deficient type.

If you are Yin deficiency, as well as the commonly known conditions, you might also get heat in the chest, palms and soles, sweating, weak back and legs, dry skin and constipation.

If you are Yang deficiency, you may get aversion to cold, cold limbs, weak and cold back and knees, diarrhoea, oedema, and/or frequent urination.

And of course, it is not limited to those two types and there are more detailed diagnoses as every person has different symptoms.

Please feel free to contact Daurim Acupuncture to find out more about your very unique conditions of menopausal syndrome.

❤ You will be also getting a $20 discount for the initial treatment. Simply show me the screetshot of this article when you are in!
For new patients only, valid until 30th July 2022.

Are you having trouble sleeping? 😴

Lately growing number of people are having difficulties sleeping tight.

We call it insomnia, but not every person has a same condition of insomnia. Some people take hours to fall asleep, some people get broken and disturbed sleep, some people get headache or palpitations at night, some people wakes up to go to bathroom...

Insomnia is not the condition that can be addressed with a "one-fits-all" kind of medication. In Chinese medicine perspective we see the person rather than the disease itself, and try to find the cause of the condition to balance the whole body system. Your insomnia will be gone while you feel a lot healthier and stronger at the same time 💪

ARE YOU SCARED OF NEEDLES?😖

My patients who are new to acupuncture often get nervous about needles in their first treatment. But once they know how it feels like, they come back to me saying "Eunbin, that felt a lot better than what I expected!"
So I wanted to share what sort of sensations you may expect from acupuncture needles if you are new to acupuncture. 🙌

Firstly, if you are a sensitive person, you can feel the sharpness when a needle is tapped into the acupuncture point. However, they are very fine needles so many people don't even feel them going in! If you feel the sharpness and the sensation continues, just let us know and it is very easy to be adjusted.

More common sensations are dull or mild aching sensations. Some people feel tingling sensation or heaviness in the needled area too. These are the sensations you can feel when the needles are retained.
Sometimes you can feel an electric sensation running down along your limbs, but it often disappears after few seconds.

In Chinese medicine, we call it that we have obtained "De-qi". It means that the acupuncture point is being activated, and your body is reacting to the treatment.

It does not necessarily mean you need to feel those sensations to get positive outcomes.
Some patients absolutely love the De-qi sensations while some patients don't. You can always ask your practitioner to adjust the needles when you don't like it 😉

Acupuncture treatment is your relaxing time! Don't be afraid of needles 🥰

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine❓️

TCM is an ancient system of health and wellness that’s been used in many Eastern countries for thousands of years. While western medicine focuses mainly on treating disease, TCM does not just focus on science and medicine but looks at your entire well-being, based on balance, harmony and energy.☯️

When you visit a Chinese medicine practitioner, you might expect them to ask you questions about the cause and development of your main complaint / disease. However, in many cases, they will not just focus on your main concern, but ask you many other questions about other part of your body systems (for example, digestion, sleeping patterns, etc). You may think the questions are random and not relevant, but it is because TCM sees you as a whole, and consider everything in context.

If you would like to try Chinese medicine and acupuncture, please contact me on 0451 900 746 ❤️
