šŸ‘‹MEET THE TEAM ~ RECEPTION

Hi, my name is Mandy and I’m very happy to have the opportunity to work at the new Robe Family Practice. I have 10 years’ experience as a medical receptionist; I love the job and especially love giving friendly and caring patient support.
More about me: I’ve been thrown some curve balls in my life journey but being a glass half-full person, I choose happy, so seem to be able to pick myself up and keep smiling (most of the time).
I married my high school sweetheart at 20, a farmer from Coomandook, and had four beautiful kids. He unfortunately had an accident on the farm and we lost him at 38 years-old. Life doesn’t stop though - I now journey with my partner in fun, Scotty, and have 9 (nearly 10) grandkids. Life is good.
I’ve owned a property at Pinks Beach for over 20 years, but a couple of years ago decided to sell our main home in Murray Bridge and make the sea change to live permanently in Kingston. The change has been a downsize with no mortgage so I have time to ā€˜smell the roses’.
We’ve recently adopted a rescue Border Collie pup, Penny. She is very loved – aka spoilt! I also love live music and, until very recently, would take long road trips with tambourine in hand to see our favourite bands, mainly being The Terrys, Beddy Rays, and Vlads. I’m learning guitar in my older age and love to cook, craft, crochet, quilting, camping, and fishing.

šŸ‘‹ MEET THE TEAM ~ RECEPTION

Hi! My name’s Emily, you may have seen my face around Robe but if you haven’t here’s a little bit about me!

I have grown up and lived in robe my whole life. I graduated year 12 last year, and am now studying a bachelor of midwifery which I am super passionate about!

When I’m not working or studying I love to spend time with my friends and visit my family who now live in Queensland!

I am super excited and grateful to be a part of the team at Robe Family Practice and am looking forward to learning more in my role as a medical receptionist!

šŸ‘‹MEET THE TEAM ~ RECEPTION

A big hello from Michelle Gilbertson!

I’m so excited to be part of the wonderful team at Robe Family Practice. The lack of accessible health services in country areas has always been close to my heart - us country folk deserve better. That’s why I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining this new practice, helping bring quality healthcare to the people of Robe and surrounding communities. How great is it to have care close to home, without the need to travel long distances, and with appointments that are easier to access?

My husband has been managing a farm in Willalooka for the past 30 years, and we’ve been lucky to have a home in Robe during that time. Recently, I made the decision to move here permanently and leave my admin role in Bordertown, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect to find a local opportunity at the Family Practice.

I’m a self-confessed animal lover (some might say a little too much!). My husband has officially banned me from adding any more pet sheep, cattle, or a yard full of chooks, apparently I’m not great for business when I insist they all live long, happy lives! These days, my little menagerie consists of two dogs, and I never tire of beach walks with them.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my children and friends, as well as enjoying the incredible food and beverages South Australia has to offer. We really do live in a beautiful part of the world.

A big thank you to Malcolm and Teresa for their warmth, vision, and passion in creating this practice and for trusting me to be part of the team.

Please pop in and say hello, we’d love to meet you!

šŸ‘‹ MEET THE TEAM ~ RECEPTION

Hi, I'm Kathy Parker. I consider myself nearly a local to Robe, having lived here for over 25 years—many of you would recognise me from the various places I've worked in between raising my four (now young adult) children.

Though no stranger to sitting behind a desk, this is the first time I've worked in a medical clinic, but I feel having watched 22 seasons of Grey's Anatomy has prepared me well and I'm doing okay deciphering the medical lingo—Malcolm's Kiwi accent, less so!

Work aside, I'm passionate about the creative arts—I'm a writer, editor, poetry slam competitor/spoken word performer, musician, and obsessed reader of all things. I'm currently studying a Master of Creative Writing through Edith Cowan University, which I hope to complete by the end of 2026.

When I'm not working, studying, or spending time with my family I can usually be found outdoors—sometimes attempting exercise, more often just wandering barefoot in nature, daydreaming about my next writing project.

šŸ‘‹ MEET THE TEAM ~ NURSE

My name is Georgia Burns, I’m a 27-year-old Registered Nurse who lives in Kingston with my husband, 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son.

I started out my nursing career at the Royal Adelaide Hospital where I worked on a surgical trauma ward before moving to stroke/ neurology. While I enjoyed working in both of these areas, my husband and I wanted to raise our family in a country community, hence the move to Kingston in 2020.

I currently work part-time for Robe Family Practice as well as part-time at the Kingston Hospital. I love the variety that rural nursing has and the challenges that come along with it. I also appreciate the importance of quality family practice and the benefit that it has for the community.

In my (rare) spare time, aside from chasing around my children, I love tending to my veggie patch and baking for my family. You’ll also see me playing Netball for the Saints on a Saturday and might even run into me at the gym.

13/03/2026

Hi everyone,

I've just returned from a wonderful week in New Zealand celebrating the family milestone of my daughter's 21st birthday. The clinic has been in excellent hands with Dr Peter Clements, and I'm grateful to him and the wonderful team for their support while I was away, and especially grateful to the front desk team for shielding you from the teething problems we've had with IT, which should hopefully be resolved next week — fingers crossed!

I'll be back in the clinic from Monday 16th March and look forward to seeing patients again then. As part of continuing to expand services at Robe Family Practice, I'm also pleased to introduce a couple of new initiatives:

🩺 Skin Cancer Checks

We will now be offering dedicated full-body skin cancer checks. These appointments involve a careful examination of your skin using a dermatoscope, a specialised magnifying tool that allows moles and skin lesions to be assessed in much greater detail.

Following the examination, patients will receive advice and recommendations based on the findings, including monitoring and referral if required.

šŸ’Š Home Medication Reviews

We are also introducing home medication reviews, which provide a comprehensive check of your medications to ensure they are appropriate, working well together and not causing unwanted side effects.

These reviews are particularly helpful for patients who use a Webster pack or take five or more medications, where medication risk can sometimes be higher.

Both services are part of our commitment to proactive, preventative care for our community.

If you feel either of these services may benefit you, you can book an appointment on 08 7736 3606, book online via our website www.robedoctors.com.au, or drop in and talk to our friendly receptionist team at 1 Smillie Street, Robe.

Please let reception know whether you are booking a skin cancer check or a home medication review when making your appointment.

I look forward to seeing you in the clinic.

~ Malcolm
