☀️ March is Melanoma Awareness Month
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, but the good news is that melanoma can often be successfully treated when detected early.
This March, during Melanoma March, we encourage everyone to take a moment to check their skin and book a skin check with their GP if they notice anything new or changing.
🔎 Know what to look for – the ABCDE signs of melanoma:
• A – Asymmetry: one half doesn’t match the other
• B – Border: irregular, ragged or blurred edges
• C – Colour: uneven colour or multiple shades
• D – Diameter: larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser)
• E – Evolving: changing in size, shape, colour or symptoms
🌞 Protect your skin every day:
✔ Slip on protective clothing
✔ Slop on SPF 50+ sunscreen
✔ Slap on a hat
✔ Seek shade
✔ Slide on sunglasses
If you have a spot that looks different from the rest or has changed recently, don’t wait – book a skin check with our team. Early detection saves lives.
