My client had knee surgery in early December and came to see me to support her recovery last week.
Nearly two months later, swelling was still present and her knee flexion was limited to 90°. She felt stuck and frustrated with the slow progress.
We focused on lymphatic drainage to help reduce fluid congestion, along with gentle scar support using cold laser therapy and remedial massage to the surrounding tissues.
After the first session, the swelling reduced and her flexion improved to 108° (+18°. Measured by her physio).
After two sessions over four days, the swelling continued to reduce.
Sometimes recovery plateaus not because you’re not doing enough but because fluid congestion and tissue restriction are still present. When we support lymphatic flow and address surrounding tissue tension, the body often responds in its own time.
Every body heals differently. My work is here to support recovery — not replace medical care.
If you’re recovering from surgery and feel like your progress has stalled, DM or call/text 0401 037 637 and let’s see how we can support your next step.
