Welcome Richard to the above physio team ! Our very own experienced exercise physiologist. Richard is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who graduated from the University of Queensland in 2017. Growing up playing competitive tennis, Richard spent plenty of time in physiotherapy clinics completing rehabilitation programs. Seeing first-hand how targeted exercise could support recovery and performance sparked his interest in Exercise Physiology.
With over 8 years’ experience across private practice, return-to-work rehabilitation, and sports strength and conditioning, Richard is passionate about using exercise as medicine. He has helped a wide range of clients reduce pain, improve function, and return to the activities they enjoy.
Richard specialises in designing tailored rehabilitation programs using strength training, Pilates, and hydrotherapy, with a strong focus on long-term results and sustainable movement. His approach is practical, evidence-based, and centred on helping clients confidently reach their exercise and health goals.
What is an EP?
Exercise Physiologists are university-qualified allied health professionals who specialise in using exercise to treat and manage injuries, chronic conditions, and complex health issues.
Often described as the bridge between a Physiotherapist and a Personal Trainer, EPs have in-depth knowledge of medical conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and chronic disease management. Unlike personal trainers, EPs work clinically and prescribe exercise as treatment—helping improve function, reduce pain, and support long-term health through structured, individualised exercise programs.
