Hi mummas! I’ve been totally MIA for a couple of years now....lots has happened including moving to the Sunshine Coast and changing jobs and schools and everything that goes with uprooting from your home town! I haven’t been working in the perinatal psychology space during this time but I’ve been keeping up to date with everything and my passion is still as strong as ever 🙌🏼 I’ll be moving over to Instagram to share info, tips, and inspiration. I’ll share details when they’re available if you want to follow me. I’m not seeing any clients at this stage sorry. Hope you’re all safe and well xx

New mummas 💜

Self care mummas....we always put ourselves last cause it’s our “job” to look after the family. But you can’t pour from an empty cup ☕️💛

The needs of a new baby or babies can feel all-consuming in the early weeks and months. But as we often remind our Helpline callers, you can’t pour from an empty cup. What helps you to fill your cup? At this time, it might be something as simple as keeping your fluids up (have a cuppa), eating something nutritious, or taking a few moments when you can to breathe and just be, before you start ‘doing’ again. Self-care is different for everyone: see our Wellbeing and Self-Care Fact Sheet for a few ideas...

We all can relate right?!

"My main struggle was with other peoples open opinions and criticisms of what was best for my baby, which gave me no confidence in my own judgements"

#10 is so important! So hard to stick to but it makes sense to expect some meltdowns if we don't 😬

Many of kids' so-called "naughty" behaviors are developmental and human.

I bet a lot of mums can relate to this 💛

Anxiety isn’t all about stress and panic attacks. For me, it’s often about being so stressed that the result is cold, angry, bitter words.

I love that people can be honest about this. It's reality and it affects so many of us 💙

I love that people can be honest about this. It's reality and it affects so many of us 💙

I wasn't going to share this with you all just yet. As I'm still processing it all. But I wanted to let you know that's it okay if you're not okay.
Today I walked out of Kmart mid anxiety attack looking for a bathroom and hoping to god this isn't happening to me again. The reality is, it is. And even though I'm disappointed in myself and I feel as though all the things I worked so hard for last year have come undone. I know what it felt like to be okay after my last bout of post natal anxiety. This time I'm on top of it and I'm off to get help before it becomes my life again.
I tired so hard to push myself through it and I'm exhausted. I need sleep. However, I'm okay. And I will be okay. This is just one of those things that can happen and unfortunately for me it's hit me quickly. Recognising and acknowledging it is far more than what I've done in the past. I told Nolan how I felt and he asked me if I should call Martin - the psychologist I was seeing. So we came home and that's what I did booked myself in for my first appointment for Friday.
The reason I'm telling you this is because even though my photos, my posts and even my snaps all seem pretty normal you actually have no idea what's going on in someone's head. Meaning there are millions of people out there who'll do anything to bring you down or someone around you. Be the person that asks the simple questions or be the person that stands up for someone. As you have no idea what's going on in someone else's world.
And know it's okay not to be okay, as long you get the help you need! It doesn't work straight away but I promise it helps.
