Flourishing Wellness

Flourishing Wellness I help leaders prevent burnout, build resilience & forge thriving teams - wellbeing fuels success!! It lacks time for input from the key stakeholder - you.

I am passionate to inspire and empower people to create their healthiest life. I help my clients reclaim their time and energy so they can do what gives them joy in the world with the ones who matter most to them. With over 25 years as a registered nurse, coupled with my skills as a health and wellness coach, I have a great ability to connect with people. Through a positive approach together we discover what matters to you, envisioning what's possible now and in the future as you create new habits towards your goals. I've seen the limitations of the prescriptive approach in health care. What feels possible for you? What are your strengths and supports? What might hold you back? I help my clients regain their confidence to make lasting change and feel their best. If you're curious - contact me to arrange a free 15 minute discovery call.

Taking a five week social media detox.

I’ve built my business helping others find balance, set boundaries and protect their energy…

But lately, I’ve realised it’s time to practise what I teach.
So while I’m overseas, I’m going fully offline.

No posts.
No stories.
No scrolling.

I want to be fully present with my favourite travel buddy of 30+ years - to slow down, explore and really see the world instead of viewing it through a screen.

Because wellbeing isn’t just something we talk about.

It’s something we live.

When I return, I’ll share what I’ve learned - personally, professionally and creatively - from logging off.

Until then, here’s to leading with intention, not algorithms.

Have you ever taken a social media break?
What did you notice?

Calm minds in action today at the Local Buy Summit.

Grateful for the chance to open the Conference this morning.

One moment that stood out: watching people breathe, smile and realise how quickly attention can reset under pressure.

When we protect our attention, decisions get clearer and people feel better doing the work.

How do you help your team stay focused when things get busy?

The power of a pause.

Most people try to go faster when things get hard.

But clarity doesn’t come from speed - it comes from space.
Here’s the 3-step mental reset I practice daily

Pause. Name. Narrow.

Three steps to turn reaction into clarity.

Because the fastest way to improve performance
isn’t to do more —

it’s to slow down for 20 seconds
and decide what truly matters.

Try it today:

🍃Before your next meeting, message, or decision -
🍃Pause. Name. Narrow.
🍃Then notice what changes.

Tag someone who could use a 20-second pause.

Everyone says pressure creates diamonds.

But in leadership, that kind of pressure just creates burnout.
Cortisol kills clarity.

And calm?
That’s where peak performance actually happens.

Calm isn’t a soft skill anymore - it’s a strategy.

Your nervous system is your decision-making software.

If it’s overloaded, your clarity crashes.

Calm isn’t passive - it’s the new competitive edge.

We don’t rise to the level of our plans -
we fall to the level of our nervous system.

Leaders who can regulate before they react make better decisions, faster.

That’s why I built Calm Minds, Clear Choices - practical tools for sharper decisions and calmer teams.

Your attention is a finite resource.

Protect it like your budget - because distraction is costing you.

Every ping, switch, or “quick scroll” burns time and decision quality.

That’s not just annoying, it’s expensive.

In my upcoming keynote, I’m sharing 3 resets you can do in under 90 seconds to:
✅ Regain clarity
✅ Recover presence
✅ Refocus between back-to-back meetings

No apps.
No guff.

Just real tools that work when your brain is fried.

These aren’t just for stress relief - they’re for performance.

When your mind is calm, your decisions compound.

What’s your go-to move when your brain is foggy or fried?

Drop it in the comments - I’m building a toolkit from this thread!

Calm minds make clear choices.

I’m finalising my keynote Calm Minds, Clear Choices - a session for procurement leaders who make high-stakes decisions daily.

When attention is steady, everything works better: decisions hold up, collaboration feels lighter and outcomes improve.

Over the next two weeks I’ll share snippets from the process - ideas that help teams focus under pressure and lead with clarity.

What helps you steady your focus when work gets noisy?

Thank you Nyree Johnson for the opportunity to chat and for all you do to celebrate our local community. You have such a gift for drawing out people’s stories and making everyone feel at ease.

From her days as a baby nurse to her bold shift from treating conditions to preventing them, Celeste Cleary has always led with heart.

In Episode 15 of Rockhampton with Nyree Johnson, we explore Celeste’s journey from 30 years in nursing to empowering others through health and wellness coaching - Flourishing Wellness. She shares how compassion fatigue, a chance encounter with a keto cookbook, and the realities of regional healthcare sparked a new path. One focused on intentional living, metabolic health, and self-compassion.

This episode is a masterclass in courage, growth, and the power of small steps.

Ever noticed how easy it is to stay busy without really coming up for air?

Sometimes staying busy feels safer than slowing down.

When we pause, even for a few minutes, we see what truly needs our energy (and what doesn’t).

That’s where clarity and connection start to grow again.

Maybe this week’s challenge is simple: take a breather.

A walk.
A quiet cuppa.
A team chat without the agenda.

That’s where the reset begins.
How are you giving yourself or your team a bit of space to breathe this week?

This post by John Sanei hit home for me.

“You can’t climb the right mountain until you climb down the wrong one.”

When I stepped out of intensive care and into health coaching, I had to do exactly that.

I wasn’t exhausted or burned out.

I’d built an identity that no longer fit.

Being a nurse was such a big part of who I was that I couldn’t imagine myself without the title.

And it was impossible to see new possibilities while I stayed in that box.

Climbing down meant letting go of that old identity - and trusting that something new would emerge.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t finding the next mountain.

It’s allowing yourself to leave the one that once defined you.

Here's some inspiration for anyone struggling to see the impact of small incremental steps towards better health. Perspective is everything!

We always think change has to be huge to matter… but science says otherwise.

A study from Johns Hopkins found that even a small amount of weight loss can take real pressure off your knees—protecting your mobility, easing pain, and helping you stay active as you age.

Better health isn’t about intensity. It’s about consistency, momentum, and science-backed habits that your body can sustain.

Small steps work—because they last.
