The Ladybird Care Foundation provides vital support to individuals and families that have experienced the death of a child at any age, through a peer mentoring program. Through this program they walk along side grieving families through what must be the most challenging time of their life.

They actively recruit, train, and support volunteer peer mentors who have lived experience, to become the human connection and support for those who are newly bereaved.

We are in awe of all that they do and are proud to partner with them as a referring organisation, supporting the incredible work they do.

Spent a great day in Townsville yesterday with Northern Queensland PHN and other providers on the MyndKind program. MyndKind is the PHN's innovative approach to mental health care, which Rural Health Connect is proud to be a part of, as a funded provider for psychological therapies. The new approach involved looking at the entire client journey to see what could be done better, ensuring clients are always at the centre of care. It is built around the following priciples:
* Support starts at the time of asking
* Every interaction builds confidence in the system
* Overwhelmingly compassionate
* Outcomes that really matter
* The system stretches, not the person
This program is nearly one year in now and it is great to see all of the priciples in action, with positive outcomes for clients.
