What does radiology have to do with heart health?
Cardiac imaging plays a vital role in helping your doctor determine how well your heart is working 💓.

Following your initial heart health checks, your GP might recommend scans like:
♦ CT Calcium Score
♦ CT Coronary Angiogram (CTCA)
♦ Echocardiography
♦ Myocardial Perfusion Scan

These scans give a detailed view of your heart and blood vessels.
Helping detect narrowed arteries, poor blood flow or early signs of heart disease.

A brief explainer of common medical imaging:
💠 X-ray
Used to diagnose bone and joint conditions.
Quick access, quick procedure.

💠Ultrasound
Uses sound waves to create images of organs and blood vessels. Guide injections.

💠CT
Detailed X-ray cross-sectional images of organs, tissue structures and blood vessels.

💠MRI
Uses magnetic fields and radio frequency waves for highly detailed tissue images.

💠PET
Shows both function and structure of organs and tissues using a radiotracer.

💠DEXA
Also called bone densitometry for early osteoporosis detection.

💠Dental
Also called OPG to assess tooth and jaw health, and plan surgery.

Each scan has a different purpose, but all deliver insights the human eye can not!
