Slouchy sitting and straight-leg bending can be signs your child is struggling with pelvic control.
When children sit in a posterior pelvic tilt (tucking their bottom under), it’s often linked to reduced core strength and lower muscle tone in the glutes and hamstrings. They may also have difficulty sensing where their pelvis is in space, which is known as proprioception (body awareness).
You might notice:
• Bending with straight legs instead of squatting
• Difficulty picking objects up from the floor
• Recurring back discomfort or fatigue
• Poor sitting tolerance or frequent slumping
Physiotherapy can help by strengthening core and hip muscles, improving body awareness, and supporting better posture and movement patterns.
We offer physiotherapy at Therapy Works CQ to support your child’s comfort, confidence, and everyday movement 🏃🏽♀️⭐️
