Change is easy, maintaining change is the real challenge especially if we don't have the right tools to cultivate a new pathway. Yoga is a powerful tool that's been used for thousands of years by different cultures across the globe to facilitate growth & transformation. Don't be put off by the photos you see on Instagram, like any practice - there is progression. A variety of classes are on offer at New Life Movement that include both modern & traditional movement styles. Beginners to advanced classes available. Combining movement with focused meditation encourages you to ‘dig deep’ emotionally which leads to change that is transformational.

New Life Movement will help you to achieve your physical goals (weight loss, improved strength and flexibility, increased cardiovascular fitness) and we can also support you in moving deeper and working on emotional resilience and mindfulness. Yoga has been scientifically shown to improve mood, deepen sleep and has also been used as an adjunctive therapy for helping treat addictions, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. As well as teaching regular yoga, Beverley is a trained yoga therapist specialising in trauma-sensitive yoga helping individuals with PTSD and complex trauma heal through a ‘body-based approach’. Whatever your health and fitness journey includes - New Life Movement will tailor a bespoke practice for you that is challenging and ultimately transformational.

Change is hard especially when it comes to removing bad habits.

We may really desire change, even have a vision of who we would prefer to be. But we may also have a fear of stepping into the unknown, and not have the right support surrounding us to make the changes required.

Impatience can impede change too. We may have tried in the past and because the results weren't immediate, we lose interest and revert back to our old selves. This can be easy to see with people who lose interest in new exercise or diet regimes.

It's important to set small goals to begin with. Small successes builds internal motivation to keep going on the new pathway you are cultivating for yourself.

Choose your friends carefully. Change often requires making new sets of friends who support the 'new you'. 💯

We all hide or deny our emotions to some extent particularly difficult emotions such as shame, fear or anger.

These repressed emotions start to drain our energy levels leading to conditions such as burnout, chronic stress, anxiety or depression.

For a 'thriving life' we need to tap into this unprocessed emotional energy and help release the energy in a safe and transformative way.

Yoga provides a tool for you to safely navigate these emotional centres stored within your body.

Noticing your breath whilst moving in a slow and deliberate way allows you to observe any sensations that arise without attaching and allowing the sensation to arise and follow its natural pattern of release.
