If we’re going to lounge by a pool all day - the thing some of us fantasise about while enduring the grind or whatever version of this we each identify with (swirling vortex of terror, perhaps!) what is it that we love so much about it?

The heat? The water? The sounds? The pure laziness of it?

Maybe take a moment today to remember how it feels. Daydream a little about that feeling. Give yourself a tiny respite from the everyday.

It’s better for you than diving into a bottle of wine or a tub of ice cream and your body will thank you for the trip down memory lane.

1. Carbs ≠ Weight Gain. It’s not the carbs, it’s excess calories. Whole grains, fruit, and veg support long-term health.
2. Seed Oils Aren’t the Enemy. No solid evidence links them to inflammation. In fact, swapping animal fats for plant oils helps your heart.
3. Not All Ultra-Processed Foods Are Bad. Context matters. Some fortified or minimally processed foods still fit in a balanced diet.
4. Meal Timing Doesn’t Define Your Weight. Eating after 7 p.m. won’t ruin your goals. It’s about total intake, balance, and routine.
5. Gluten-Free Isn’t Automatically Healthier. Essential for coeliac disease, unnecessary for most. Whole grains still win for fibre and nutrients.
Why it matters: The internet loves extremes. Real health is built on evidence, balance, and habits that last not hype.
Download meforme™ app and get on the plan that won’t be debunked.

There’s something delicious, even a little naughty, about the freedom of being on holiday. No schedules, no rules, no holding it all together. And yet, in the back of our minds, we tell ourselves: “It’s ok, I’ll get back on the diet or gym program when I return. I just need a break.”

But why should feeling good ever require a break? The occasional overindulgent dinner or hangover is one thing, but a week of letting it all go often leaves us feeling worse, with further to climb when we return.

The goal is to make feeling good an essential, everyday part of life so that when we do move away from it, it feels uncomfortable and we naturally move back quickly.
I’ve seen it countless times with my clients: the beginning of a new way of eating not just what you eat, but when and how much can feel strange or even uncomfortable. But like learning any new skill, over time it becomes second nature.

This is where our focus needs to be with food: the big picture, long-term changes that truly last.

The Weight We Don’t Talk About

We want to move the conversation away from diets, metrics, and “before and afters” towards what truly matters: how we feel. The series captures the invisible emotional impact of our relationship with food, showing how small, compassionate shifts can transform everything that sits beneath the surface, our confidence, connection, energy, and joy.

Eating out doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, even when the menu is full of options. Once you understand food for what it really is, choosing entrées and mains becomes much simpler. When you know what you’re eating, you not only make better choices, you feel good about them too. And remember, the same chef creating the decadent dishes is also behind the nutritious ones, so yes, you can enjoy dining out and still stay on track.

We live in a paradox. On one hand, hyper-individual “biohacks” promise to optimise our every cell. On the other, public health messages still chant “eat more veg.” Neither speaks to the reality of juggling family, work, stress, and culture. No wonder people feel stuck. The food conversation needs a rebrand, away from the fads versus slogans. Toward evidence-based care that respects complexity.

Dietitians are already there, bridging the science with the human. They are the ones helping us re-examine the when, what, and how of eating that actually fits our lives.

You’ve heard it all before: eat more veg, move more.
And yet here we are surrounded by diets, hacks, and challenges, and still struggling. Why? Because those messages don’t match the complexity of real life.

Surgery can help, but you still need to eat right.
Meds might assist, but they don’t plan your meals.
Challenges inspire, but they fade.

What’s missing? Personalised, expert care. Dietitians are the only approach proven to deliver sustainable results, because they focus on the when, what, and how of eating tailored to you.

That’s the difference between starting over and finally thriving.

Not Enough to Go Around
We call them “allied health,” but really they are frontline: the dietitians helping people eat to live, the physios rebuilding bodies after injury, the OTs supporting kids to thrive at school, the psychologists holding people together. And yet, demand is outstripping supply at a scale that hurts. The Australian Psychological Society reports waitlists of 3–6 months in some metro areas. Paediatric OTs? Families regularly wait 6–12 months for an appointment. The numbers tell us what practitioners already know: there just aren’t enough of them to go around. These professionals are overworked, under-recognised, and still show up because they care too much not to.
