This story is for all the new mammas...I had a client come in today and she brought her 6-month-old with her. It wasn't exactly part of the plan, and I assured mum that whatever bubs could manage would be fine. My aim was to get mum some treatment first and then give baby his treatment once he'd had enough of waiting. We got about 30 minutes in (which was great) and then bubs had started to let us know he'd had enough. Mum asked if she could feed him on her side. She started to feed him, and I continued giving her some treatment whilst she fed. I'm very honoured to have been part of that special moment and felt a wonderful energy flowing during that time! Once they'd finished, he was still fussy and just appeared to want some attention...so I gave him a cuddle while mum spoke to him and gave him a treatment with my other hand. I found a spot that he communicated to me that I needed to stay on and held this spot until things settled for him. Afterwards he was very calm and quiet and happy to wait for mum to have a bit more treatment done to finish the session. They both left feeling lighter and recharged.
Your body goes through a lot to grow, birth and look after a baby. It takes time to heal. A massage session is not a treat at this time, it's essential to healing! Your baby too may have experienced some trauma during labour and birth or if there were complications perhaps even after birth. CST is wonderful for them and doesn't require a lot of time to make a difference.
I very much enjoyed this session and don't mind having to change things around as we go. I like being kept on my toes!
