What a wonderful two days at our Lunch & Listen events.
A heartfelt thank you to The Timeless Way Cafe in Kingston and The Coffee Club Rosny Park for their warm hospitality — and for providing the perfect real-life café environment to truly put the technology to the test. Busy, conversational, and full of background noise… exactly where hearing matters most.
It was a pleasure to welcome so many of our patients to experience the latest Widex Allure hearing aids, with Widex Product Specialist Yvy Nguyen joining us to answer questions and share her expertise.
Widex Allure features the advanced W1 chip platform with ZeroDelay™ processing, designed to deliver incredibly fast sound processing so speech feels clearer and more natural, even in complex listening environments.
What stood out most over the two days wasn’t just the technology — it was the reactions. Many participants commented on how comfortable conversations felt, how much easier it was to follow discussion around the table, and how natural the sound quality seemed compared to what they were used to.
These events are always a reminder that better hearing isn’t simply about making things louder — it’s about clarity, ease and connection.
If you weren’t able to attend, we offer obligation-free trials of the latest hearing technology. Call 1300 327 776 to arrange a comprehensive assessment of your listening needs and discover what’s possible for you.

Nick and Heidi Modrovich met as young audiologists back in 2002 when they were both working in the suburb of Croydon in Melbourne. They quickly fell in love and the rest, as they say, is history.
Nick spent his early years as an audiologist working for private hearing clinics across Victoria & South Australia. Heidi spent many years travelling around the country as a Hearing Aid Product Specialist for a major hearing aid manufacturer. They were both lucky to have had the best mentors in the industry which helped them develop a strong sense of clinical excellence, and a passion for always finding ways to do things better. It was inevitable after getting married in 2005 that they began to look for opportunities to carve out their own audiology pathway as life and business partners.
In 2007, despite not knowing many people in Tassie, they packed up their young lives and moved to Hobart to take over the ownership of “AudioClinic Hobart”. The Murray Street store quickly expanded to 7 clinics across the state within a few short years and became known as “AudioClinic Tasmania”. In 2011, “The Mods”, as they are affectionately known by the locals, started their family and are now blessed with the two most incredible little girls. Although Hobart life seemed to have settled for this little family, Heidi’s health took an unexpected turn, which contributed to their decision to sell their business in 2017.
With the support from the local community, and seeing gaps in the way hearing healthcare is delivered in the state, the couple has decided to go back into business. Only this time, to create a totally independent, Tasmanian owned and operated set of local clinics that don’t simply focus on selling hearing aids; but to adopt a more holistic approach to hearing health care. “Ability Hearing and Balance” is proud to be a one-stop clinic for all things hearing related including comprehensive balance and vestibular testing, tinnitus counseling, Wax mircrosuction, children’s hearing tests, central auditory processing tests; as well as our proven expertise in all things hearing and hearing aids related! We are the experts in non-routine hearing aid fittings. Our vision is to create something that speaks to the heart of communication - to help those in the local community who are hard of hearing to reconnect to loved ones through compassionate clinical guidance, and knowledge.
We aim to create a space where our team is supported and proud to call home; as well as a place of connection for our clients. We are excited to be back serving the local community, and cannot wait to reconnect with so many of our clients!
Ability Hearing and Balance services Glenorchy, Kingston, Rosny Park and Launceston. We thank you for your decision to support a local Tasmanian business.
