Nick and Heidi Modrovich met as young audiologists back in 2002 when they were both working in the suburb of Croydon in Melbourne. They quickly fell in love and the rest, as they say, is history.
Nick spent his early years as an audiologist working for private hearing clinics across Victoria & South Australia. Heidi spent many years travelling around the country as a Hearing Aid Product Specialist for a major hearing aid manufacturer. They were both lucky to have had the best mentors in the industry which helped them develop a strong sense of clinical excellence, and a passion for always finding ways to do things better. It was inevitable after getting married in 2005 that they began to look for opportunities to carve out their own audiology pathway as life and business partners.
In 2007, despite not knowing many people in Tassie, they packed up their young lives and moved to Hobart to take over the ownership of โAudioClinic Hobartโ. The Murray Street store quickly expanded to 7 clinics across the state within a few short years and became known as โAudioClinic Tasmaniaโ. In 2011, โThe Modsโ, as they are affectionately known by the locals, started their family and are now blessed with the two most incredible little girls. Although Hobart life seemed to have settled for this little family, Heidiโs health took an unexpected turn, which contributed to their decision to sell their business in 2017.
With the support from the local community, and seeing gaps in the way hearing healthcare is delivered in the state, the couple has decided to go back into business. Only this time, to create a totally independent, Tasmanian owned and operated set of local clinics that donโt simply focus on selling hearing aids; but to adopt a more holistic approach to hearing health care. โAbility Hearing and Balanceโ is proud to be a one-stop clinic for all things hearing related including comprehensive balance and vestibular testing, tinnitus counseling, Wax mircrosuction, childrenโs hearing tests, central auditory processing tests; as well as our proven expertise in all things hearing and hearing aids related! We are the experts in non-routine hearing aid fittings. Our vision is to create something that speaks to the heart of communication - to help those in the local community who are hard of hearing to reconnect to loved ones through compassionate clinical guidance, and knowledge.
