Families are invited to take part in a special consultation session as part of the Young Voices Big Choices project, presented by Council for Intellectual Disability.

This session has been designed specifically for families of young people living with an intellectual disability (aged 16–25) to share their experiences and help shape future supports and programs.

During the session, we will explore key life transitions such as:
β€’ Leaving school
β€’ Starting work, training or study
β€’ Moving out of home
β€’ Planning for the future

Families will also learn about Supported Decision Making and connect with others navigating similar experiences.

Through the School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) program, Matilda is developing skills and confidence for her future.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) also plays an important role in helping her live independently while staying connected to her community.

Together, these supports empower people living with a disability to build independence and move towards meaningful opportunities.

Over the past sessions, participants have built confidence, formed new relationships and enjoyed learning from one another in a supportive and inclusive environment 🌿
