A fascinating fact about Aconite (Aconitum napellus), a commonly used homeopathic remedy, is its historical significance. In ancient times, Aconite was known as "the queen of poisons" or "the mother of poisons." This is because the plant contains highly toxic alkaloids, especially in its roots and seeds.

However, through the process of potentisation in homeopathy, Aconite is transformed into a safe and effective remedy used to address various acute conditions, including sudden fevers, anxiety, and shock. This transformation from poison to medicine exemplifies the fundamental principle of "like cures like" in homeopathy.

This painting is called "Homeopathy looks at the horrors of allopathy." It was painted by Russian artist Alexander Beideman in 1857.

In the 19th century, the painting was also known as the "Triumph of Homeopathy". In the far right of the painting, we can see Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy - German physician born in 1755 (dark blue cloak). Together with the god of medicine Aesculapius in a red cloak and the goddess Athena (protector of science) they look with disapproval at the horrors of allopathy (modern medicine) and in those times often brutal and inhuman practices and mistreatment of patients.

Axl Rose is the lead singer in the band Guns N' Roses.
In 1992 at an airport in England he had a run-in with the airport security. It was reported that Axl flew into a rage when security wanted to put his black pouch containing Homoeopathic medicines through the X-ray machine, he was concerned that the X-ray would neutralise his Homoeopathic medicines. There is no evidence of bad effects of X-ray on Homoeopathic medicines but he loves Homoeopathy and takes great care in the storage and handling of his medicines.

Portrait of Dr Gachet by Vincent van Gogh.

Dr Gachet was Vincent van Gogh's Homoeopathic doctor, they lived together for some time after Vincent was released from a mental asylum for cutting off his own left earlobe.
Vincent van Gogh's first impression of Gachet was unfavourable. Writing to his brother Theo he remarked: "I think that we must not count on Dr. Gachet at all. First of all, he is sicker than I am, I think, or shall we say just as much, so that's that. Now when one blind man leads another blind man, don't they both fall into the ditch?" However, in a letter dated two days later to their sister Wilhelmina he relayed, "I have found a true friend in Dr. Gachet, something like another brother, so much do we resemble each other physically and also mentally."
Dr Gachet took care of Van Gogh in the final months of his life, the time spent living with Gachet was a very productive period for Van Gogh producing more than seventy paintings.
Unfortunately Dr Gachet was unable to save Vincent's life after Vincent had shot himself in the chest dying two days later.
The painting of the Homoeopathic Doctor Gachet was sold at an auction in 1990 for $82.5 million, it was the most expensive painting in the world at the time.

Today is the anniversary of the birth of the great medical genius Samuel Hahnemann, born on the 10th of April, 1755.
Hahnemann revolutionised and refined the practice of medicine by steering doctors away from injurious blood-letting practices and from using large and harmful mixtures of medicines. He created the Homoeopathic system of medicine using small and safe doses of highly diluted medicines made from naturally occurring substances, and often only using one medicine at a time.
The main theory of Homoeopathy is that 'like cures like', meaning that a substance that causes particular symptoms in a healthy person may be used to treat a sick person with the same symptoms. Many doctors took up the practice of Homoeopathy and Homoeopathic hospitals and mental asylums were established. Many Homoepathic hospitals popped up around Europe and America. In America in the early 1900's there were 22 Homoeopathic medical schools, 100 Homoeopathic hospitals and over 1,000 Homoeopathic pharmacies. Homoeopathy became increasingly evanescent in the 20th century mainly due to medical politics. From the 1970's to the present time Homoeopathy has seen a resurgence of interest and medical scientists continue to carry out clinical trials using Homoeopathic medicines.

Reopen the Homoeopathic hospitals in England, America and Australia.
Who in their right mind would close down hospitals that have been operating successfully for many decades?
There has been a medical war going on for the last 200 years between two schools of medical thought, the Allopathic and the Homoeopathic. The Allopathic system (conventional pharmaceutical medicine) is currently the more dominant, it has profited immensely from the sale of its medicines and its wealthy drug companies can influence the government through generous political giving to further their own allopathic medical interests. These interests include closing down Homoeopathic hospitals and ultimately eliminataing the competition. Allopathic pharmaceutical companies have asserted their dominance in the medical world.
Homoeopathy has continually been suppressed ever since the 1910 Flexner Report was introduced in the US which standardised the teaching and practice of medicine based on laboratory research and using only patentable drugs. The Homoeopathic system of medicine has been doing just fine with thousands of doctors around the world practicing it but it's sad that Homoeopathic hospitals have been forced to close.
I kindly ask the governments of the UK, Australia and America to do the right thing and reopen the Homoeopathic hospitals. If any have been re-purposed or demolished then please allow for the building of new ones. Homeopathic Medicine is gentle and well tolerated with far fewer recorded adverse effects compared to conventional Allopathic drugs.
Please bring back Homoeopathic hospitals.
We need them.
