Preparing for school isn’t about rushing children into academics. It’s about helping them feel ready.
Many children have mixed feelings about starting school - excited, curious, worried, sad, all at once. And that’s completely normal.
Books, open conversations, play, and shared experiences help children:
• make sense of their feelings
• build confidence in new situations
• practise asking for help
• feel safe to try, even when something feels hard
You don’t need to “fix” the worry ... just make space for it, name it, and walk alongside your child through it.
These conversations and intentional play and moments count more than we think 💛
