✨ Reflections from Retreat ✨
Yoga, at its heart, is an invitation to step into practice ~ not only to do but to be. On the mat & beyond, it offers space to observe, to reflect & to stay with ourselves, free from the pull of constant motion, people-pleasing, or doing without meaning.
In the pause, awareness awakens. The mind begins to clear, resistance softens, & clarity arises. Like holding the reins of wild horses ~ as the Bhagavad Gita reminds us ~ we learn to gently guide the movements of the mind rather than be carried away by them.
Through cultivating sattva (clarity & balance), we start to live with insight rather than from old patterns. We see ourselves as we truly are, not just as we wish to appear. From this place of acceptance, compassion, patience, & non-attachment, our energy is used wisely ~ responding rather than reacting.
As T.K.V. Desikachar so beautifully said: “The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life & our relationships.”
This retreat has been an act of self-care, a sacred pause. From it, I carry three deep lessons:
1. Patience
2. Acceptance
3. Letting go
Like a bird, freedom is not found in clinging but in opening the wings ~ to embrace all of life as luminous, whole, & free.
Heartfelt gratitude & reverence ~ for both inspiring teachers & & for the teachings that continue to guide me inward & onward. 💜🙏🏻
