We always have a choice 🧘‍♀️✨

We can match the chaos — or hold our centre.

Earlier this week I sat down at my desk with a to-do list bigger than my laptop screen. Deadlines slipping, communication patchy, a messy issue on my website… and no one rushing to fix it.

I felt that familiar inner storm brewing — tight shoulders, shallow breath, the “FFS, it can’t be that hard” loop running wild.

Then I caught myself.

This is the exact crossroads I coach my clients through.

Chaos happens. But we get to choose how we meet it.

So I stepped back. Took a breath. Reminded myself:
“I choose the energy I bring into this.”

And everything softened.

A few truths landed:
✨ Some people bring scattered energy to everything — it doesn’t mean we need to join them.
✨ Calm clarity shows us what aligns and what doesn’t.
✨ Your standards aren’t “too much” — they’re your values guiding the way.
✨ When we stay centred, we don’t get dragged into other people’s storms.

So instead of spiralling, I dealt with it intentionally. No heat. No blame. Just clarity and boundaries.

The reminder?

Life will always throw a bit of chaos. Our power is in how we respond.

Stay centred. Stay clear. Choose your energy.
That’s how we become the steady ones — in business, relationships, and life.

How do you ground yourself when everything feels messy?

Who else feels like they’ve got a billion tabs open in their brain… and the laptop is just confirming it?

It’s Friday, and it’s been an epic week — clients, kids, squeezing in my fitness tennis lesson (even though I nearly talked myself into the couch… and then had a brilliant time once I got there), plus our final Gippsland Women in Business event for 2025 and the AGM. Both an absolute success, and I’m still buzzing.

Today, though, I’m slowing down so I can speed up.

I’m smelling the roses and giving myself space to just be.
I’m officially closing all the open tabs.

Next step: a blank piece of paper and my ‘things list’ — not a to-do list. That comes later, once I’ve downloaded the mental clutter, regrouped, and chosen my top three hot things that will help me feel grounded, in control, and back in my flow.

From there, the creativity and productivity always return.

Can you relate? Is it time to close your tabs and regroup too?

Ps. How gorgeous are my roses!

💥 Perimenopause hit me like a wrecking ball I never saw coming.

If you know, you know.
If you don’t — that’s okay. Most of us didn’t either, until it hit.

For two years, I pushed through fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, joint pain, and skin flare-ups — thinking I was just “burnt out” or “too busy.”

Turns out, I was in the thick of perimenopause.

It’s the silent, private storm so many women over 40 are weathering — often alone, confused, and feeling like a stranger in their own skin.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
🧠 It’s not all in your head.
💬 You’re not crazy.
💪 And you’re definitely not alone.

This is a story about breaking the silence — about learning to listen to your body, advocate for yourself, and rebuild your confidence when hormones (and Imposter Syndrome) try to knock you flat.

I’m sharing my journey — the messy, human, real version — because it’s time we talked about this openly.

I went to a conference in Melbourne with no agenda. No sales pitch. Just curiosity.

Left with two books to gift, a new business friend, and a reminder of what networking should actually be about.

Spoiler: It's not about selling.

As President of Gippsland Women In Business, I've seen what works and what doesn't. Most people show up focused on 'me' instead of 'we' - and if you're battling Imposter Syndrome? It's even harder.

I wrote about the 5 secrets to networking that actually works.

Surgery #2 on my dodgy left 👂 is officially done and dusted - all thoroughly cleaned out and the grommet removed.

This round (thankfully) came with a hefty dose of preventative pain relief and anti-inflammatories - which absolutely knocked my socks off - to help ward off the nasty post-op pain and headaches I had last time.

I’ve spent most of the day sleeping - through the drive home and well into the evening - and I suspect I’ll be heading straight back to bed shortly.

A heartfelt thank you to my chauffeur, Dan, and to Gail for organising the girls for their tennis camp (which they absolutely loved), and to Mel for dropping them home. 💜

Now it’s a waiting game until my post-op review in 2–3 weeks, where I’m hoping for a few more answers. In the meantime, fingers crossed this chronic infection finally clears with the latest round of oral antibiotics and drops.

To my clients - thank you so much for your patience and flexibility while I rearranged this week’s sessions. I’m planning a few days of proper rest, then it’s back to my desk next week, refreshed and ready to serve you again.

Cheers,
Nirelle

🙌 Happy Fri-yay | End of Term | Knock-off Time!

Who else has a date with the couch tonight? 🛋️

My family and I have well and truly limped over the finish line this school term. We’re all a bit worn out - I’m still not 100% either (ear still on fire, surgery booked for next week), but hey… we made it!

During the school holidays, I always take on fewer clients and carve out a few days each week to do something fun with my kids and get out of the house.

This time around, things will look a little different than planned, but I’m so grateful to my understanding clients who’ve happily rescheduled to accommodate the unexpected. 💜

✨ Imposter Syndrome Tip ✨

“Imposter Syndrome isn’t a flaw or weakness - and it’s definitely nothing to be ashamed of.

It’s actually an adaptive response that once served you well (until it didn’t).

We can thank our resourceful selves for keeping us safe… until we learn how to thrive in new, more empowered ways.”

Here’s to a restful weekend and a slower, gentler school holiday rhythm.

Enjoy, friends!
