At LaLa Speech Pathology, we see every day the incredible capacity of our children and young adults to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. While broader conversations in the media often focus on what services people may lose and on functional deficits, we choose to focus on what our gorgeous people can do and are gaining - confidence, independence, skills, and connection. Our Friday groups, led by Emma and supported by Tanner, are a space where we regularly reflect on what we can offer the world we live in - and we’re reminded again and again how much that is. Last Friday, we were thrilled to welcome back one of our own, Eden, who returned to LaLa in her Emergency Services uniform to share her knowledge of emergency services and basic first aid. The camaraderie among our LaLa attendees was outstanding, and we all left feeling more confident and better equipped for the wider world. Eden is soon to complete her dual qualification in Paramedicine and Nursing, and is also Gippsland Lifeguard supervisor for Life Saving Victoria. Thank you, Eden, for sharing your knowledge and empowering our community with real-world skills. ✨🌟✨

Our floors are done!! Check out our video to see the transformation. This is a great way to get your kiddo's prepared for the change before their first session.
Huge thank you to Baz, Fi's awesome brother in law who installed the floors along with Sam in record time over the Easter break. A big special thanks to Tanner and Grace who also worked over Easter to move all the furniture, packed up offices assisted Baz and helped Chelsea put it all back together. You all did an amazing job!

Happy Easter / school holidays ! Our sale office is getting a floor makeover at the moment before intensives kick off in week two. The office will be closed totally for week one. Limited admin will be checking messages and emails. Here is a little update of the works so far. We will post a finished one by next week.

🚨 LOST & FOUND: Very Important Teddy 🚨
This little guy was found wandering around the Sale office looking slightly confused and possibly late for a meeting.
He’s safe, well cared for, and currently enjoying the executive lounge (also known as the front desk). However, he’s very keen to be reunited with his human.
If this brave explorer belongs to you or someone you know, please send us a message so we can organise a happy reunion.

Life Saving Lakes Entrance is running their annual Special Needs Aquatic Awareness Program at Lakes Entrance on March 22nd for all ages and abilities. Last year we had a cohort from LaLa who had the best day and developed some incredible skills for life.
You may even see some familiar faces when you are there!

REMINDER !! Appointment preference ROUND 1 forms are due by 5pm this Monday (8th December). If you have not received your forms or would like them sent again, please text or email the office.
Your Groups and AHA agreements will be sent out after your preferences are submitted, these are due back by 5pm Monday the 16th of December to ensure you are included in Round 1 allocations.

Lakes Entrance Surf Life Saving Club are holding an all abilities beach awareness session THIS Saturday. It is a first for the local area I think and I believe so strongly that every child / adult should have the knowledge of how to be safe in the surf 🌊 If you are free we would love to see you at Lakes on Saturday (I will be there helping out) - registrations are essential to ensure they have the right level of support for your child on the day.

Happy Holidays from the LaLa Team!

As the year comes to a close, the LaLa Team had a wonderful time celebrating the festive season with nearly everyone joining in for a night out. Although Claire in Queensland and Emma (at home with her little one) couldn't be with us in person, they were there in spirit and even appeared in our photos thanks to the magic of Photoshop!
We would like to extend our warmest wishes to all our families for a safe and happy holiday season. May it be filled with joy and relaxation!
We’ll be back in the office for regular sessions starting on the 3rd of February. For those who completed their preference forms, appointment lists will be sent out during the week of January 20th, all going well.
Enjoy your holidays, and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year!
