Meet Lucy 👋
Lucy is the newest addition to the Inline Physio team and is passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and live with greater confidence and comfort.

With a special interest in sports injuries, post-operative rehab, and pelvic health physiotherapy, Lucy brings a thoughtful and evidence-based approach to every session. She also incorporates Clinical Pilates to support strength and long-term recovery.

Lucy is known for building genuine connections with her patients and supporting them to feel confident in their bodies again - so they can get back to doing what they love.

Outside of the clinic, Lucy loves travelling, spending time with family and friends, and trying new sports - whether that’s tennis, water polo or her next active challenge.

From the moment you call or walk through the door, Amanda, Janelle and Cassandra are working behind the scenes to make sure appointments run on time, questions are answered, and every patient feels genuinely welcomed and cared for.

They juggle diaries, support our clinicians, problem-solve on the fly, and somehow still manage to do it all with kindness, patience and a smile. We honestly couldn’t do what we do without them!!

Postural asymmetry in children and adolescents is something worth paying attention to 👀

Signs such as uneven shoulders or hips, rib cage prominence when bending forward, head tilt, or differences in waist or leg length can sometimes be associated with scoliosis - a sideways curvature of the spine that often develops during growth spurts.

Scoliosis doesn’t always cause pain. However, back or neck pain, especially when combined with:
• visible postural asymmetry
• rapid growth phases
• changes that don’t resolve over time
• or a family history of scoliosis

…are important reasons to seek assessment.

Early identification allows for appropriate monitoring, education, and exercise-based management to support spinal health and function as your child grows.

The Research behind our Bold Bones Classes:
The LIFTMOR Study (Watson et al., 2019) demonstrated that high-intensity, supervised resistance training is both safe and effective in postmenopausal women. Results showed significant improvements in:
✅ Increased bone mineral density
✅ Increased muscle mass and functional strength
✅ Reduced balance and fall risk

Importantly, the study dispelled the long-held concern that heavier lifting is unsafe for older adults. Under proper supervision and technique, participants achieved substantial benefits with minimal adverse events.

🤔 Why is Remedial Massage Sometimes Painful? 🤔

If you’ve ever wondered why a remedial massage can feel a little uncomfortable or like straight-up torture at times, here’s the answer 👉

💢 Pain or tightness in your muscles often means there are “knots", active trigger points or restricted areas.
💆‍♀️ A remedial massage therapist uses targeted pressure to break down, improve relaxation, circulation, and restore movement.
✅ While it can feel intense during the treatment, the long-term result is reduced pain, better mobility, and a body that functions more freely.

However having said that, a common myth is that for remedial massage to “work,” it has to hurt. Not true!

💆‍♀️ Effective doesn’t mean painful.
Discomfort can happen if your therapist is working on very tight or restricted muscles, but treatment should never feel unbearable.

If your body is bracing or resisting, the muscles can’t fully release, which makes the massage less effective.
