When you realise HEART and EARTH are spelled with the same letters, it all starts to make sense... and did you spot the word in between?
ART
I think it's no coincidence - there is a speical connection between all three.

Connection to the earth, connects us to our hearts, and allows inspiration for art.
All 3 nurture each other ♻️ in a continuous cycle.

If you're looking for a way to connect all 3, join us on February 14th (Love Day!) for Stroll & Scribble at Phoenix Sculpture Garden, Mt Glorious.
Double ticket discounts are available so you can bring your special someone to enjoy together.

Nature and art move at a pace that aligns with our nervous system.
Technology today is fast paced which may help keep up with demands of every day living but keeps our nervous systems on high alert.
That’s not how we evolved as a species.
We evolved under tree canopies, by running water, carving tools, painting stones, walking slowly, experiencing all the sensory delights of the world.

Have you ever noticed how much deeper you breathe when you're walking amoungst trees?
How your thoughts slow when you're engaging your creativity?
If you're struggling to remember the last time you felt this way, it's probably time to change that, and I can assist you 💚

DM to know my upcoming events or how to work directly with me using both nature & art.

This is your reminder that you don’t have to be good at something to be able to enjoy it:

Sports, chess, puzzles, cooking, reading, gardening, any form of art etc

Capitalism makes us think that in order to spend time doing something that it must be of value.

As children we are encouraged to try new things in order to learn and express ourselves; and then as we grow into adults we lose that curiosity, however we don’t stop growing and learning…

Hobbies are important for mental health, brain development, connection to others and self expression. Without these activities we lose access to mindfulness, joy, and are at risk of developing depression or other mental & physical health issues.

So, make the bad art, play sports poorly, read all your books, stick it to the man 🙌🏼 as long as it brings you joy.

No more “I’m not creative” talk, ya hear me??
Creativity isn’t just reserved for art, there are a lot of ways to be creative; cooking, gardening, rearranging things in the home or workspace, problem solving, planning events - it’s endless!
Using art to express your creativity is just one way, and it’s open for all to enjoy, no matter how often you try.

What’s your favourite way to get creative?

A really simple yet effective art exercise with nature: shadow drawings! 🖤

✏️ This can be done anywhere using as little as a pencil, paper, and the light from the sun or if you’re indoors the light of a lamp.

☀️ Hold a piece of nature (leaf, stick or flower) over your piece of paper with enough distance to create a shadow on your piece of paper and trace the outline with your pencil.

🌿 You can layer the tracings over eachother to create an abstract look or create individual illustrations of each nature item.

🎨 Adding watercolour paint or pencils can create an extra layer of fun!

This is a gentle way to practice your drawing skills and interact with nature. It allows you to bring focus on things you may not have noticed before, and appreciate the small details mindfully.

Would you give this a try?

Nature is the most ancient form art 💚
It’s my biggest inspiration when it comes to not only art making, but how I live my life in general. All the choices I make are with “her” kept in mind; Mother Nature.
And I absolutely love to share the healing power of experiencing nature with others. Bush walks, creek swims, photo taking, drawing, painting and more.

I’m excited to bring more nature experiences to my therapeutic art services with group workshops and 1:1 sessions.

If you could peel back some layers of yourself, what would be revealed?
How many layers would there be?
What version of yourself are you wanting to bring light to?

This “reveal” prompt done with collage was a gentle and therapeutic way to explore what could be lying underneath the surface we might present to others.

Writing poetry or stories to go alongside your intuitively created image can sometimes help create further insights to your expressions - especially when shared with an art therapy practitioner who can help you reflect on those inner thoughts and emotions.

Have you ever paired creative writing with your art? 🪷
