Come and celebrate 'The End of an Era' at Zen Space with a picnic this Sunday... -

In our last newsletter we shared with you that Zen Space has come to a close, for now. We were to gather last Sunday in Samford but the weather made the idea of a picnic very soggy! We have rescheduled for this Sunday, 10-12pm (finishing with a closing ceremony for those who wish to stay).

14/02/2026

Our celebration picnic is postponed due to the inclemant weather. Stay tuned for a new date!

Nearly done now… packing & moving & culling & storing of all the bits is done! Now we are tidying & repairing & painting & polishing. For the last couple of weeks people have been dropping into visit and telling me about their experiences in this space some first time experiences some profoundly healing experiences. These stories usually come with tears and gratitude that reflect my own.

I’m super grateful for everyone who has lent a hand in the last couple of weeks. Even those who have just cheered me on to keep going, it surely is a marathon, but instead of water breaks this one has teary breaks! šŸ˜¢šŸ™

With each box I pack I can feel the weight of responsibility lifting off my shoulders. There’s a lot of grief here, but there’s also relief that I know will come once it’s all done.

I’m nearly done with the packing, but I’m gonna need some help with the cleaning. Cleaning walls, cleaning windows, preparing for patching and painting and returning it to its original state.

I’ve made a few times next week and invite you to drop in even if it’s just for half an hour. If you’re unable to clean then just come as a cheerleader. Come and bring coffees, come and offer your thanks to the space for what it has given you. Come just to hang out. I would love your company.

Monday 12-2, Tuesday 3-5, Wed 10-12. Drop be a line or comment and let me know when you might like to join us! Bring gloves & a sexy bandana, your favourite cleaning accessories, your best playlist and snacks to share!

ā€˜Let go’, the universe said…. ā€˜no Kate, let go MORE’….

Despite what I believed were positive negotiations, after 10 years the renewal of the lease for Zen Space has been declined. After a year of soul searching and exploring many options for this sacred space to continue, a group of amazing women stepped in to form a circle of custodians, excited and ready to bring energy and make this beautiful space flourish once again. Ready to share the responsibility and rent, (which has increased 40% over the last two years).

We are unable to use the space to teach now, being uninsured. We are deeply sorry for everyone down the line who this will affect. Teachers, facilitators, patrons and everyone else that this decision impacts. I did everything humanly possible to try for a different outcome but despite being beautifully supported by the collective, in the end it was out of our hands. We are shocked and saddened.

Yet there is a glimmer of hope. The custodians who stepped up and said yes to being a new shared owner of Zen Space are still holding a tiny seed of hope in their hearts to find a new space for a new beginning (do let us know if you know of one!). But for now, we are packing down and moving out and we will take a moment to rest, slumber and dream of new possibilities.

Please get in touch with your teacher to find out where their classes have landed in some of the beautiful venues around the valley. Let’s hold each other gently in this time. We are grateful for your all and thankful for the part you played in Chapter 1 of Zen Space.

In 2016, Zen Space was born. Camille established Sattva Yoga Centre a few years before, I became partners with her and then a few years on she sold to me. I changed the name and expanded the offerings to become Zen Space!

At the time I’d just released my first album and wasn’t sure how far it would go, after being a professional musician for many years, this was my first steps into being a solo original artists. I remember thinking ā€˜I wonder which one will take off’.

Ten years on and the music has been all consuming and poor Zen Space has just been getting the bare minimum from me to tick it along. Despite my lack of dedication (ok maybe a bit of stubbornness to hold on for this long!) the studio has built beautiful community and such a great vibe. My vision was never to have the full yoga timetable but rather to have a community space where people could gather and offer their hearts work.

Thanks to the managerial support from Wendy Reid, the yoga timetable has thrived, the admin has ticked along, the studio is well patroned for weekend events and workshops and I’ve continued to host events when I can, either my own music events or touring artists.

All this is to say, it’s been 10 years, and what a journey! Last year I realised I didn’t have capacity to continue, so put the studio on the market. I met some lovely people but nothing quite aligned, then I had an idea - this place is a community centre, it needs to run as a collective.

So I called it in and I’m so grateful and honoured to be surrounded by the most intelligent, heartfelt, intuitive, wise and grounded women who have felt the call and stepped in to form the new circle of custodians.

I will continue to offer a couple of yoga classes, run the HeartSong choir, the new regular open mic & jam events (excited for this!), and host touring musicians.

And so begins the next chapter of Zen Space - the Zen Space Collective! The inner circle has formed but there is also a community of elders and advisors, volunteers and support folk and patrons. There is a place for everyone here. I couldn’t be happier!

I’m deeply honoured to introduce myself as one of the new custodians of Zen Space, a place that feels like a home away from home. If you’ve ever stepped inside, you already know there is something sacred here.

I am a Personal Trainer, Yoga and Pilates instructor, and a lifelong advocate for the transformative power of movement.

I’m also a believer in the strength of community—the kind that shows up, stays consistent, and grows together.

For over 24 years, I’ve been guiding people through the art of physical empowerment, blending the precision of Pilates with the mindfulness of Yoga and the grit of Strength Training. My mission is to provide a reliable, positive, and expert space where you can build a body that serves your life.

To bridge the gap between deep inner calm and outward physical strength.

To create a sanctuary where movement is both a challenge and a celebration.

To hold a space for strong bodies and quiet minds.

I am excited to be introducing Mat Pilates to Zen Space, alongside my bi-weekly Fit & Strong small group Personal Training sessions. These sessions are designed to anchor you in your functional power and help you navigate life with vitality and confidence.

I’m so grateful to be stepping into custodianship for 2026, honouring the peace that already exists, and gently guiding this space into its next chapter of strength and movement.

Thank you for walking this path with me as we enjoy all that 2026 has to offer.

Janine 😊

My name is Krystal, and I’m deeply honoured to introduce myself as one of the custodians of the newly formed Zen Space Collective.

I’m a Visionary Book Mentor, publisher, and transformational guide for coaches, healers, and changemakers who feel the call to share their story, wisdom, and lived experience through the written word. For over three decades, my work has woven together leadership, embodiment, storytelling, nervous system awareness, and spiritual insight, supporting people to express who they truly are and speak from their voice with clarity and integrity.

With a background in theatre directing, coaching, NLP, and ta**ra, at Zen Space, I’ll be offering monthly embodied writing workshops to release what no longer belongs, remember what has always been within, and become more fully who we are beneath the layers. These gatherings are less about ā€œwriting it rightā€ and more about listening deeply, allowing the body and heart to lead, and letting truth find its way onto the page.

A few times a year, I’ll also be hosting Conscious Connection events: soulful, heart-led experiences designed to bring people together to practise deep listening, explore boundaries, and experience platonic touch (yes, this includes lots of hugs).

My mission has always been to create spaces where people feel safe enough to be real, brave enough to be seen, and supported enough to express what truly matters. My vision for Zen Space is for it to continue growing as a Holistic Wellness Sanctuary, a place to be nourished, grounded, inspired, and reconnected to ourselves and each other.

Zen Space already holds a quiet magic. If you’ve been here before, you’ll know it. If you haven’t yet, I’d love you to come along to a class, event, or workshop and feel it for yourself. I’m so grateful to be part of this next chapter and can’t wait to create and connect with you.

With love and gratitude šŸ’œ
