Last Thursday night I did something that still feels a little surreal…

I stood up and did my second ever public speaking gig at an International Women’s Day event, and honestly the room was just incredible.

You know those spaces where you walk in and immediately feel like you belong?
That was this room.

No egos.
No judgement.
Just a bunch of people showing up to support each other and actually listen.

The organisers and volunteers were absolutely unbelievable. From the moment I walked in they made me feel so welcomed and supported. By the time I finished speaking I was honestly on top of the world.

Public speaking still scares the absolute life out of me… but when you’re surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you do well, something pretty special happens.

Scott, who runs the business of smiles, organises an event every other Thursday night at Hotel Lona that is alcohol-free and all about bringing people together. Just real conversations, real people, and a space where you can slow down for a minute and feel a little less alone in the world.

And let’s be honest… life gets bloody heavy sometimes.

So if you’re ever feeling like you need to reset your brain, meet some good humans, or just sit in a room where people are building each other up instead of tearing each other down, I highly recommend checking it out.

Supporting people in our local community who are trying to make others feel better about themselves is something I’ll always get behind.

Massive thank you again to everyone who made the night so special.

And to the room full of legends who listened to me speak…
you’ll never know how much that meant to me.
