While things may have quietened down a little around here after the peak holiday period, there is still plenty of action happening at the Warabar. With locals and visitors continuing to drop in, the bar remains a popular spot to relax and catch up.

To keep things running smoothly, we are still looking for bar volunteers to help out for the remainder of January. Whether you can spare a few hours or help across multiple shifts, your support makes a big difference and helps keep the club open and welcoming for everyone.

Check out the Bass Lifesaving Development camp on WIN News Gippsland!

We have 36 candidates from all over the Bass Coast and Victoria as well as over 20 leaders from all over Australia at the Waratah Beach SLSC this week completing their IRB and first aid awards!

Winch Rescue!
Yesterday our Co-Club Captain Tempest, was picked to demo a winch rescue with the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Service for the Bass District Lifesaving Development Camp!

We are now looking ahead to next season and are calling for volunteers to help make our Nippers program another success. Nippers simply wouldn’t run without the support of our volunteers, and there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Whether you’re interested in becoming an Age Manager, helping with water safety, assisting on the beach, or joining one of our subcommittees, your time and support make a real difference.

🎶 Live Music Tonight at the Surf Club 🎶

Join us this evening for a relaxed summer session with James Hall, playing live from 5pm to 8pm.

The Surf Club Bar & Deck is open from 4pm, with hot food, drinks and the best views across Waratah Bay. Come early, settle in and enjoy a great night while supporting your local surf life saving club.

What a fantastic way to wrap up the season. It was great to see so many Nippers in action on the final day of the WBSLSC Nipper Carnival 2026. All the skills the Nippers have been working on throughout the season were put to the test, and the results were outstanding.

It was wonderful to see so many Nippers and their families down on the beach and staying on for presentations, led by our Club President, Natalie Wischer.

We’ve had a great season, helped along by some excellent weather, but most importantly made possible by the incredible volunteers who put in the extra time and effort to make it all happen.

Nippers Carnival Day is almost here and the excitement is building!

Tomorrow our amazing Nippers hit the beach for their big Champs Day — the final session of the season and a chance for every child to show how far they’ve come. Expect plenty of smiles, sandy faces, teamwork and big cheers as our young lifesavers take on their events.

We’d love to see the whole community come down to support them. Bring your enthusiasm, your applause and your beach spirit — it means the world to the kids and to our volunteers who’ve worked hard all summer.

Let’s make it a fantastic finale for our Nippers!

Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat today, we have made the decision to cancel our Nippers Beach Party.

Thank you to everyone who had planned to attend, volunteer or help in any way. Your support is always appreciated.

A special thank you to Leah and the entire Nippers Committee for the work that went into planning what would have been a terrific afternoon and evening to celebrate a great season on the beach.

Stay cool, stay safe and we look forward to seeing our Nippers back on the sand very soon.
