Lately, I’ve felt this quiet pull towards something deeper in my work….

As holistic as Osteopathy is, I still felt something is missing when treating the person as a ‘whole’… and once I finally said yes to exploring it, everything started aligning.

Since immersing myself in this new modality, the shift has been profound. It’s woken something in my soul and opened my eyes to a new way of understanding healing - not just for myself, but for the people I care for.

I’m learning to simply enjoy the journey…to let it unfold, without putting pressure on myself to be an expert straight away.😅 Growth takes time, and this process has been a beautiful reminder to stay curious, open, and patient with myself.

It’s equal parts exciting and uncomfortable stepping into something new… but maybe that’s exactly what growth is meant to feel like. 💫

This simple towel exercise helps open the chest and extend through the upper thoracic spine- reversing that rounded posture we fall into at our desks or looking down at our phones!

By easing pressure through this area, it can calm the sympathetic nervous system ( fight or flight response) that runs along the upper thoracics, while deeper breathing activates the vagus nerve through the diaphragm -helping your whole body shift from a flexed and stress state into a calm and balanced one.

Keeping the rolled up towel by your bed as a reminder to do before heading to sleep, or taking breaks during the day from your desk- this is a super convenient exercise you can implement! 💫

As a migraine sufferer myself, I can totally empathize and relate to how disabling and excruciating pain in your headspace can be.
Fun fact: neck pain and migraines are what led me to Osteopathy and becoming one myself!! 🤗

So many headache and migraine patients get a lot of relief from having their neck and upper back treated Osteopathically!

Hope everyone is surviving the silly season so far!! 🥳🤪🎄

⚠️ With only 2 more weeks before we close for a break, be sure to book your appointment asap as only limited spaces left before Christmas ⚠️

💁🏻‍♀️ Some handy tips for the break if you’re going away…

💎 Long car or plane trips - take time to stand, stretch and walk around. Support your low back with a pillow or rolled up towel if it gets achey.

💎 Bring your own pillow if staying somewhere, to save your neck. 💆🏻‍♀️

💎 Resting is great - but lounging too much on a slumpy soft couch won’t do your low back any favors 🛋

💎 Make sure you bend with your knees when lifting luggage or heavy beach carts etc 🏋🏻‍♂️

💎 Try to not use this extra time off looking down at your phone creating more strain on your neck… take the time to stretch, walk and rest 👌🏼😌🧘🏻‍♀️ …and Enjoy your break!!
