We are deeply grateful and overjoyed to share this heartwarming update with you all!
Our fundraising initiative to support the rehabilitation of Chilaw Hospital — which suffered significant damage from Cyclone Ditwah and the catastrophic floods that followed — has now successfully concluded.
It all began when the hospital’s dedicated doctors reached out with an open appeal for help (letter attached). We responded with one simple, pure intention: to provide unconditional support to a hospital in urgent need.
Two remarkable individuals stepped forward to lead this noble effort with passion and unwavering commitment:
Chef Kithsiri Weerawardhane and Chef Rohitha Ediriweera.
Thanks to their generous leadership, the incredible dedication of a large team of volunteers, and your overwhelming generosity, we overcame various challenges and headwinds to make this possible. We proudly sold over 500 dinner packs during the campaign, and we were also fortunate to receive additional support from the Appeal Sri Lanka fund.
The result? A truly resounding success!
We are thrilled to announce that we have donated a total of Sri Lankan Rupees 4,299,090.00 to Chilaw Hospital (see the heartfelt thank-you and acknowledgement letter from the hospital attached).
