Meet Kelsey 👩 ⭐

Born and raised in Shepparton, Kelsey is a kind and dedicated member of the GV All Abilities team. Kelsey lives at home with her amazing mum, and their cats and dogs. 🐶 🐈

In her spare time, you will see Kelsey studying Community Services at GOTAFE, playing netball for Congupna and playing AFL for Shepparton United. She is passionate about music, sustainability and community. 🎶

Why Kelsey chose to work in the NDIS sector:
Kelsey grew up with her mum and aunties working in community health/services and always admired their passion and commitment to their jobs. She has always seen a future in a job that is dedicated to giving back and caring for people. 🥰

Kelsey’s favourite thing about her job:
Overall, Kelsey believes the best thing about her job is connecting with participants and seeing their independence and confidence grow overtime. 🙌

Where Kelsey sees herself in 10 years:
In the next decade, Kelsey would like to complete a Bachelor of Social work and continuing work in community services. She would love to move back to Melbourne and work in advocacy and/or the family violence sector. 🫶🏽

Recognising abilities rather than disabilities is essential for fostering an inclusive society that values diversity and promotes equality!! ✨

By doing do, we encourage individuals to reach their full potential, which can lead to greater self-esteem and empowerment. This shift in perspective gives an opportunity to individuals with disabilities to showcase their abilities.

Many organisations acknowledge that individuals with disabilities bring unique perspectives and skills that can significantly enhance team dynamics, creativity, and problem-solving skills. These individuals can effectively showcase their abilities, dedication, and passion by engaging in community service, employment, or volunteer opportunities. This involvement not only provides them with valuable experience but also facilitates networking and connections with others who share similar interests.

By emphasising inclusion, individuals with disabilities can effectively create meaningful contributions to society 💪💖

At GV All Abilities Care, we believe that strong support starts at home.❤️

Parents and families play a vital role in the care and development of our participants. That’s why we actively involve them in their loved one’s journey—whether it’s through open communication, regular updates, or working together to create the best support strategies.

By collaborating with parents, we ensure that our participants receive consistent care, guidance, and encouragement both during our supports and beyond. Because when we work together, we empower individuals to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Stronger support starts with family.💙
