Cryptosporidiosis or crypto, is a form of gastro. We know that cases are rising across Vic. So let’s dive into the world of healthy swimming!

💦🏊 Did you know that while swimming is a blast, pesky germs and parasites might lurk in pool water? 😮Don't worry, the GV PHU Guardians have got the top tips to keep the pool pristine!

Follow these five steps to splash safely:

1️⃣Shower with soap before diving in 🚿
2️⃣Wash hands with soap after the loo or changing nappies. 🧼
3️⃣Nappy changes belong in designated areas. 👶🏽
4️⃣Avoid swallowing pool water! ❌
5️⃣Stay out for 14 days if tummy troubles have been around lately! 🤢

Share this with your swimming squad and keep the fun flowing while staying healthy! For more pro tips, or visit betterhealth.vic.gov.au/healthy-swimming or Gastroenteritis - cryptosporidiosis - Better Health Channel for further advice!

Many of our Allied Health professionals trained elsewhere and chose to bring their skills back to the Goulburn Valley.

At GV Health, Allied Health teams work across diverse services and caseloads, supported by multidisciplinary teams, supervision, and learning opportunities. We also offer relocation and accommodation support for those moving to the region or returning back home.

It’s a way to build experience and stay connected to the local community you know.

The GV Health Foundation would like to give a big shout-out to McDonald’s South Shepparton for the incredibly generous support 💛

Restaurant Manager Brodie Wagstaff, along with fellow staff members Myah and Emily, dropped in to GV Health to deliver a big bundle of presents for children in the kids’ ward. The gifts were warmly received by Director of the GV Health Foundation, Amy De Paola, and Associate Unit Manager of the Children’s Ward, Emilia Morris, on behalf of patients and families.

Donated by both McDonald’s staff and customers, these gifts will be shared with children staying in hospital over the Christmas period as well as those who attend ED.

We sincerely thank everyone involved for thinking of our youngest patients and helping bring a little extra joy to their day over the Christmas season. 🎄🎁😊

The Oncology Creative Group (pictured below at their Christmas party) meet every second month, providing people experiencing cancer a welcoming space to enjoy creative activities with a diversional, complementary therapy focus.
Gifts are made for oncology patients, made by those who know what it is like to sit in Oncology for treatment. Participating in an enjoyable creative activity can increase a person’s ability to cope and an overall sense of wellbeing.
If anyone is interested in knowing more about the group, contact Vicki.Woodhouse@gvhealth.org.au.

Let's help the Battery Man hit $1 million in funds raised for GV Health! 🔋💙
Over 16 years, Paul Archer has raised $880,000 for GV Health's Child and Adolescent Unit by collecting and recycling old lead-based batteries from across the region.
Now he's pushing for the $1 million milestone and he needs your help!
Paul can't get out on the road like he used to, so he's asking locals to:
Drop off any lead batteries at Natrad Shepparton, 20 Campbell St
Or lend a hand loading them up for recycling
All across our region, these batteries are collecting dust in old cars and vehicles.
Together, we can turn them into life-changing support for local children.
Want to volunteer or learn more? Give Paul a call on 0457 000 423.Let's finish what Paul started and get our Battery Man to a million!
