Lest We Forget 🌺

Today, 11 November, members of our Harbourside Seniors Hub attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony in Nelson Bay, joining others from the community to honour those who have served.

The group also took a moment to admire the beautiful poppy display outside the RSL, a touching tribute to remembrance and reflection.

A day for fun, gardening, and sunshine at Harbourside Seniors Hub! After enjoying morning tea at Spirited Café, our hub crew got hands-on in the garden—picking fresh red beet, carrots, and chives, and planting juicy new tomatoes. 🌱🍅

We can’t wait to enjoy more of our homegrown goodness soon!

After 13 years with Harbourside, Lisa has found her passion in helping clients live independently and comfortably in their own homes. From daily visits and errands to simply sharing a laugh, every day brings something new — and meaningful.

Flavour, Friendship & Celebration at Harbourside 🍰✨

Laughter, conversation, and the aroma of freshly prepared food filled Harbourside Residential Care as residents, families, and staff celebrated the finale of our 12-month partnership with the Beer Foundation .

Over the past year, Head Chef Tommy Slowey and the kitchen team worked alongside Maggie Beer Foundation chefs to enhance mealtime experiences — exploring new recipes, sharing ideas, and creating joyful moments through food.
“It’s amazing how small changes can make such a big difference to residents’ enjoyment and wellbeing,” said Tommy.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for bringing creativity, connection, and care to every plate.

Halloween Fun at Harbourside Residential Care!
We had a spook-tacular day with cupcake decorating, spooky trivia, and colouring stations. Our best-dressed “scary” residents Frances and Kerry stole the show!

The treats kept coming with fizzy “spiders,” green jelly, yummy spring rolls cooked by Chef Tommy, and a festive Happy Hour. We finished the day with trick-or-treating and a scary movie – a day full of fun, laughs, and Halloween spirit! 🍬🕸️💀

Melbourne Cup Celebrations at Harbourside Residential Care!

What a fabulous day! Our residents enjoyed horse racing games, a “Fashion on the Fields” catwalk, Melbourne Cup sweeps, Happy Hour, and, of course, watching the big race on TV. It was a fun-filled day full of laughter, excitement, and wonderful company – everyone loved it! 🥂🐎💛

Melbourne Cup Fun at Harbourside Seniors Hub!

Today we kicked off Melbourne Cup Day in true style — with a delightful High Tea, followed by hat craft, a horse draw for the big race, and a colourful hat display in the garden for our very own Spring Carnival.

Rana and Tracy from the office joined in the fun, dressing up and getting their own fabulous hats made by the group!

What a wonderful day of creativity, laughter, and Cup Day cheer!

We’ve loved having Montana, a 2nd-year Registered Nurse Graduate, and Mackenzie, a 1st-year Registered Nurse Graduate, join us for the past two weeks on placement at Harbourside Port Stephens Residential Care.
Their enthusiasm, compassion and willingness to learn have been wonderful to see in action — it’s inspiring to watch the next generation of nurses grow in confidence and skill.
Thank you both for bringing your energy and care to our residents and team — we wish you every success in your nursing journey! 💙

Today’s group requested a visit to My Three Beans Cafe (formerly Fighter World Café) at Williamtown — and as always, Kaylan and the team made us feel so welcome! 💛

Fantastic service, friendly smiles, and delicious treats kept everyone happy.

☀️ Harbourside Seniors Hub on the Move! 🚌

On Friday, our Seniors Hub group enjoyed a beautiful day out in the sunshine — starting with a lovely morning tea at Fighter World, followed by a stop at Clarence Town to check out the Military Muster, and finishing off with a relaxing lunch in Raymond Terrace.

The bus was a buzz of conversation on the way home as we shared stories and laughs about all we’d seen and done together.

Another wonderful week of engagement and connection for our amazing crew! 💛
